Another Sunday and another progress report. This time, with very good news. You know when (almost) everything flows perfectly? That's what happened this week. Few re-renders, and almost no rewritings.
The update is going to be HUGE. It's going to be competing for first place in length, with around 33,000 words (the biggest update so far was v.0.19 with 33,203 words).
Well, let's go with the numbers, which I know are what you're (not) interested in.
What have I done this week? Let's start with the writing. There's some juicy news:
I finished the scene I told you about last week, the one I had half written, adding about 3,000 words. It ended up being 7,000 words long (maybe the longest scene ever). It's a strange scene; you could almost say it's six small scenes one after the other. When my stepson tested it, considering he's a fast reader, it took him 38 minutes to play through the whole scene.
But I didn't stop there. I wrote five more, much shorter, scenes totaling 5,300 words. Total for the week: 8,300 words.
Right now, the update has 29,073 words in Spanish, which, once translated, should be around 30,700 in English. I told you it would be huge.
Let's move on to the renders. It's also been a productive week.
I've done seven animations (2,086 renders) for the big scene. The update has 35 animations with 8,582 renders. The count of still renders has reached 1,611, which means 609 in the last seven days. The update has reached 10,193 renders combining still images and animations.
What are my plans for next week? I still have to render one of the scenes I've written. After that, I'll have to write and render another scene and the teaser for the next update. I hope to have it finished by the middle or end of next week.
Then I want to add the questionnaire so that players can start the game directly in Season 3, as several players have had problems loading their saves from other seasons (mostly on Android, but I'm going to take the opportunity to help players who have lost their saves due to a change of computer, for example).
All that will be left is to translate (right now, there are 13,000 words left to translate, plus the scene I have to write), send it to proofreading, and add music and special effects.
I think everything could be finished in about 10 to 12 days, which would make the biggest update of Season 3 also the fastest. I love it when everything flows!
