I'm Aragonese-born (the region between Catalonia and Castille) and Catalan-raised. My father was Catalan and my mother Basque, so I'm from nowhere and from everywhere. The ones wanting secession are the Catalans, not the Castillians. I don't have a strong opinion neither for or against secession, since I'm a practical man and I know that, if it ever happens, my old eyes won't see it. So no need to worry or take a position. Returning to the religious thing (less controversial than politics 🤣), I agree. In every religion, or in people not practicing any, there are good and bad persons. I respect any belief and the right to believe in what anyone thinks it's right. At the end of the day, as you say, it only matters how we treat each other.

Here, it depends on the region. In Central and Western Spain, most people don't work on the 24th, but everyone works on the 26th. In Catalonia, we don't celebrate the 24th (unless the family has Castilian roots), so we go for lunch on the 25th to the parents' home and on the 26th to the in-laws', and next year we do otherwise. I'm an uncultured man about any religious tradition (Christian, Jew, or whatever) so, for me, it's only another family meeting. That's why I spent my free days before the Holiday Season, I don't mind working on those days, and my coworkers can take their remaining days to spend with their family (especially if they need to travel).

Hanukkah starts at sundown Christmas day so it's almost as if the "religious" stars aligned this year!!

Oh God no!! In the US no one works on the 24th except convenance and grocery stores!! I love the celebrate it all mentality!! It gives a very unity vibe that is necessary in the modern world!!

Happy Chrismukkah! (I loved that quote from The O.C.) I have free days on the 25th and 26th, those are the family days here. The rest of the days are normal working days (half day on 24th and 31th). I'm not a Christian either (or any other religion) so I "celebrate" it because of the family, not because they are any special day for me or for my wife. Happy Holiday Season, my friend!

Lol I meant said, basically, merry Christmas!! I'm not Christian though, so instead I say Happy Holidays because Hannukah is the same time frame as Christmas!! You should take a rest and spend it with your family, not working!!
