No! There was no cheating here :D the glass broke off from thermal shock when the cold liquid touched it. I would bet you could do the same thing with a mini butane torch. Heat a spot on the neck until it's glowing and then tip the bottle so the cold liquid hits it. I'm almost certain the same thing will happen.
