Sometimes the gas cap can honestly just be tightened if it wasn’t tightened properly as stupid as that sounds if you haven’t tried that but I would definitely just order a gas cap online rather than ordering one at a shop a lot of shops charge about 200% markup on parts

Yes but I know why the light is on and it’s a different reason, hopefully the new gas cap thing is just for getting a new gas cap though

Check engine light on? Jeeps are notorious for having bad seals at the gas cap it’s not a running issue just an emissions issue. Usually can just be fixed by getting a new gas cap but not super important unless you need to get a state inspection or something. As far as the smoke goes make sure you have plenty of coolant and make sure to keep and eye on your temp. If you got any moisture in the engine bay it could have easily been steam and not smoke

Yeah I have! I had most things fixed with my car not long ago I just took it in today because one of my headlights was out and I needed an oil change but now there’s a new issue 😞

Oh no, sorry to hear that about the car. Have you ever had a diagnostic test done on the car? They use a computer system to see if everything is working well. It just says somethings up with the gas cap and I think I saw some smoke coming out the engine but I might be tripping because it was dark and raining hard. Either way I’m gonna try taking it back to the shop tmr because this wasn’t an issue until today
