Greenhouse Devlog 12/8/24 - The great sketchening

This month has been very productive as I've finished a bunch of quality sketches for several scenes in greenhouse. I'm glad to say I've finally finished the longest scene of greenhouse, which ended up with almost 100 images. The previous longest was the dream scene in Chapter 2, which was 30, I think. Damn..
It's an interesting one because it feels completely different from all other scenes and I feel like it could even be a standalone visual novel. 😳
Sooo before writing this Devlog I was curious about exactly how close I am to finishing all my sketches.. In my mind I'm thinking I have 50 left, maybe 60.
Welllll surprise I just did the math for all the scenes and environments and I estimated 158 more sketches to do.. 🙀 with the great majority being sex scenes and only 30 environments. This comes as quite the shock.. I thought I was way closer to being done. :|
It turns out chapter 3 is fucking huge.
This is taking way longer than I'd hoped or imagined.. Although I enjoy working on Greenhouse very much, I'd really like to finish it as soon as I can so that I can move on to other projects.. So I've come to a decision.
I'm going to try to finish all 158 sketches this month. :o
It's a looot of work, especially with Christmas and everything but it's totally doable if I'm disciplined. The hardest thing will be trying to keep quality up while speed is up. Quality will still be my main focus. :>

They whisper in the woods that if you have enough passion you can have many friends. All friends. Friend to all plants. Sure you might not have much of a home life outside of any jobs but you have plant friends! It'll probably be fine.

Looking forward to it. :) <333 And I mean yeah. They're just minor game overs. A series of good ends. It's actually why I'm kinda hoping to just stay with the plants after it all you know? They take good care of you and are really good lovers. They just tend to be very clingy and want you to stay for longer than you might otherwise be able to when you got responsibilities you wanna tend to.

Np. <3 And I mean neither are mine. But I got a full gallery out of it. And ah okay yeah I got all seven documents then! :D There were a bunch of other empty slots for more documents so I wasn't sure. :) Appreciated~ I actually went back and checked out some of the other decisions. I kept the pocket knife with me throughout too just in case. Turned out it's for making certain minigames easier by not having to do it at all, outside of using it to pry open a drawer to get one document which I did. Kept it on me just in case anymore of those specific ones would be needed. Loved doing the minigames. Tried out all three initial routes at the very start, it was interesting how there's a completely missable setting pic at the beginning if you don't just choose to immediately run instead of either wait or grab the knife. Been an enjoyable romp. All the bad ends are top notch.

Thanks for the kind words! I very much appreciated it! :> Erik's decision making is definitely not the best at times.. :P There are I think 7 docs so far. You have to make certain decisions in order to get a few of them.

Just finished the game on Itchio. Fuckin' 10/10 got all the images. Bunch a docs. Think I grabbed all the items. Character may say "I'm not that stupid" in regards to eating the fruits but I feel like if the character wasn't that stupid they wouldn't have gone to a very clearly abandoned area with their friends in the first place. Overall a great decision tbh. Looking forward to more, love the sketches. I think I missed some docs in-game come to think of it. I'm guessing it's based on certain choices at the very beginning or there are just a ton of open doc slots with no docs.

ooohh boy... it seems this is a chunky one, still, it's good that you are placing a deadline for yourself, but don't burn yourself trying to hold to it too tightly, 158 drawings is a lot. Still, nice to see the progress this is making, wish you all the best ^w^
