Sunsetting the Patreon
🕑 Added 2023-04-02 05:36:56 +0000 UTCI wanted to wait until April Fools Day was over.
The current month of April will be the last month this Patreon is open for, and after that I’ll be shutting it down. This was something I was ruminating about all day, and the decision wasn’t made lightly.
Long story short is that all the personal issues I had back-to-back-to-back a few months ago initially put me behind to where I struggled to catch up, but the mounting pressure that produced completely shattered my mental health. Even with having ADHD I could manage a somewhat consistent schedule, but I’ve ended up in some of the worst depression I’ve ever had and it’s making it next to impossible to motivate myself to do anything, let alone write. Everyone around me can see I’ve pretty much shut down, so I knew something had to be done because I can’t stay like this much longer. I just never recovered.
Trying to maintain this has become too much for me to handle in my current state that I feel like it’s not really fair to everyone to keep it going. My lack of output has done nothing but endlessly frustrate me, which then feeds back into the problems and only makes them worse. It’s gotten to a point where I feel nothing but dread when it comes to Patreon, so much so that even going to the site gives me anxiety.
As much as I liked the idea of writing stories that people pledged here could read, the intention wasn’t to solely do them and nothing else as I had intended to work on commissions simultaneously. The problem was that this ate up so much time that there’d be no way to make doing commissions feasible in any capacity.
Once this month is over I’ll be returning to commissions full-time.
In regards to the reward stories that I promised I’d take care of, I’m doing what I should’ve done back then and canceling them. However, as I don’t think it’d be right to just leave it there, anyone who was waiting for a reward story will instead receive the 10% commission discount they would’ve received at the time should they commission me. I have the list handy so I can easily check.
I genuinely apologize that I have to break the news like this, but I’m at an incredibly low point in my life and need to do something drastic in order to fix things. I fully intend to get out every story that’s meant to come out for this month, but once those are posted that’ll be it.
I wholeheartedly appreciate the support each and every one of you have given me, and I’m disappointed I have to bow out like this. Here’s to a better future.

Okay, so I just posted an update with my plan for how to tackle them, but the TL;DR is that I'll be using next month to finish them before I'm done here.

They want NSFW creators to verify their identity by providing physical evidence, and I'm just not excited with the idea of Patreon having access to that kind of information. They have enough out of me as is, quite frankly.

I'm glad you were able to make it last as long as you did. It's not easy to maintain a Patreon, so you should be proud it lasted as long.

I think I'm willing to leave Patreon as a failed experiment and move on, especially with how they're rolling out the 'adult creator' changes that I'm not super thrilled with. I'll think of a different way to monetize my work if I choose to do so again.

I do have one question what will you do with all your Patreon exclusive stories? I guess mass post them to your Furaffinity but I would like to know for sure. If you don’t mind answering.

I wouldn't personally have any issue with fewer posts if you leave the patreon up to allow us to actively support you. I think I speak for most of us in that we didn't think the rate at which you put stories out was an obligation.

Dude, you don't have to apologize. Personal health comes first, AND you're being up front with us which is all anyone could really ask for. One thing I would suggest tho with the existing stories on the patreon, bundle them in a shared folder, Tag the tags title, and send out an email blast with the folder link. I myself know I barely got to poke at the stories with my busy schedule but I enjoyed being able to fund ya here. The world needs more fun expressive kinky works in it. Hopefully taking this off your back helps you find the calm and peace you need. And if you ever want a crowd to fund ya again, just light the torch and we'll come ^_^
Hope you feel better after all of this, although I am curious: what will happen to your stories that would take months before you posted them to Furaffinity? Will you post them there or are they being erased?

Don't be sorry for putting your health first. It's a very easy thing, to experience burnout for a passion of yours that you may love to do. It's also a sign of maturity that you're taking action to help better yourself by stopping. Sorry to hear about the anxiety and depression, I understand that feeling all to well. Hope things get better for you, and looking forward to any future works you create...on your own time, of course!
