🕑 Added 2025-01-17 01:18:19 +0000 UTCI have a bad habit of worrying too much about making the final lines nice and clean, which leads to me drawing "stiff" for lack of a better way of describing it. When I draw looser and sketchier, the end product is better, if you ask me.

do you not think there's a way of drawing more relaxed that's different than trying too hard that maybe comes out more rigid? when i try to draw what's in my mind it's a million miles from what i intend and really just looks like floppy indecipherable lines... Ben was talking about doing better when he was relaxed, but i basically carve away at the page till I'm left with a page that's just run out of room and sometimes i like it... ๐ but i definitely can't choose what's gonna show up or like erase and improve whatever details

i totally get that with the loose sketching! my art tutor is actually teaching me to be looser currently. gesture drawings. my art can be pretty dang stiff without.
