I think also it's a bit of appreciation on Brutus's part. No one views him through the lens of his past or the unseen scars he bears. They just see him. He just patiently waits for it to click with Mr. Wrinkles instead of getting angry.

I really appreciate how Brutus just gives Mr. Wrinkles a moment to understand whom he was asking that question to. He didn't flex, didn't even emote. Just allowed the moment to sink in. THAT is the mark of someone's who has experienced a truly horrible situation. It's less a "Can you believe I survived that??" and more "It happened. It's over now."
