This was a beautiful story, both visually and drama. Since it's such an old story told by many, I'm going to try to use it in my first attempt to draw a comic. I draw traditional, and it's going to be for my blog on Tumblr. I'm giving cred to you in it. How lucky I found you! I love your style. I'm still pretty much a newbie, so I have it easier drawing semirealistic than more stylized comic. I need a hobby project of this size to find a style that comes naturally to me. Since I loved this comic it's going to be easier to keep the motivation up when it drags out in time. I took a free membership now to night, but I'm buying a tier on Monday.

New commonwealth of Calizona and the beautiful way in which futurism was rendered… with corn, the led cross (we already have that in some places!), the whole landscape, the indication tables,… it’s sooooo well made!!! The details are incredible!

Side note: I found it especially refreshing that the motivation for separating the two wasn't necessarily homophobia. It can be read as such, but could just as rightly be one of any other issues the father had, with either of the boys, or even simply the motivation of *money* from the contract with the factory.

I didn't grow up with SSTTITD, so only a few things from those books ever reached me as a kid. This was a fresh tale for me & it seems like a fresh tale on the formula, too. I've read some of those stories as an adult & most of them wouldn't have scared me as a kid; I don't find this one particularly *scary* either, but I understand it being categorized as horror. It's more melancholic & tragic - very "starcrossed lovers" (Pyramus & Thisbe/Romeo & Juliet), and while I generally gravitate towards the most eerie & unsettlingly uncanny of your comics in particular, this might be one of my favourites yet.

This reminds me a lot of this book I read once called It Looks Like This by Rafi Mittlefehldt. Heavy trigger warnings for homophobia, death of a gay teen, and conversion therapy (as if that didn't just spoil the whole thing lol) but it was an absolutely BEAUTIFUL book, definitely recommend if you want a cry.

Well there's Cuzco Corn s'got pretty big kernels, softer than normal, at least from the soup (albondigas) I've had. Probably used for cornmeal. Would probably make a hell of a cornbread though.
