Oh, yeah, I don't know about slow season 1, but it does feel around in the dark for a cohesive arc - though I think that may only be on rewatch; it starts to move in s2, then sprints and finds its groove in s3 continues into s4. Also on the arc versus freak of the week thing, I think they make it clear from early on that these events aren't unlinked - what links them may not be obvious (it may be absolutely impossible to tell in fact), but they want you to know there's a link. Also the bus thing it always seemed to me like a gas (IMHO it's a liquid because vapour) that becomes a gel then solidifies, I could be wrong but gels are a really interesting thing with phases of matter.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! This question has been on my mind for weeks. I love that there are far greater science nerds than I (in the absolute best way possible :) ) willing to teach me here. Much appreciated!

Hey Neil, love your vids! Yes a gas can turn directly into a solid under the correct conditions of temperature and pressure. The rate of temperature (or pressure) change wouldn't even have to be quick. As an example, google image search "phase diagram of water", you will see the conditions for each phase of water to exist. At low enough pressure water doesn't exist in a liquid phase at all so it would change directly from gas to solid
