Russell Brand, old russy wuss to his fans... I think I would say I am a fan (but then I definitely wouldn't class myself as conservative or older!) although I only dip in and out of his work as he does have a (self admitted, and he does a lot to work on it) tendency to get a bit egotistical and have a bit of a messiah complex. I used to love his old radio show that was on years ago (which he got cancelled because Jonathan Ross was on and they got carried away and caused some upset together) and his youtube show the Trews ("true news" - a quite intelligent analytical look at newspaper/reporting bias) . But you are right, in the UK he really divides people, conservative folk don't much appreciate a left-leaning know-it-all show off, and his various controversies (some drug fuelled before his rehab and really more reflective of his poor mental health state) turned a lot of people off
