A Question About Process✨
🕑 Added 2020-09-15 20:37:15 +0000 UTCI received this message from a lovely patron, so I decided to anonymously share it because I think it would be helpful for others who were also curious?
I do a mixture of:
1) A general A to Z of story points with dialogue ideas:

2) More refined scripting for important scenes:

3) Storyboarding:

(I usually rough out the panels digitally too, before I work on the inks)

As you can see from the script, I make changes along the way and not everything I write down necessarily makes it onto the page.
I'm not really a stickler for by-the-books processes, but I always have a general, basic outline of the story and do rough storyboards on paper.
I tend to workshop really important scenes with more drawings and specific dialogue treatment.. but if it's just a panel of someone walking down a hallway to show them getting from one place to the next- I feel confident about being able to do those with minimal direction.
I hope that helps! I think whatever works for you is always best.😘💕 I haven't had any formal comic training, so I just sorta wing it, most of the time?😂 Follow your heart~~!
Thank you so much for the kind question!😍💕💕

I've been battling writing a comic script myself so I really appreciate seeing how your process goes ; u ; It's been hard to find a good system that seemed to work with my own process for writing

Ah, this was an awesome look inside your process! I always love seeing this kind of stuff from comic artists, because it seems like everyone approaches it differently and it's cool to compare differences and similarities!
Woooah! So cool, Hamlet! Thank you for sharing these details from your process! When I read the dialogue/action script for Cain and Abel I felt like grabbing popcorn—it felt like I was watching a film reel out of your mind! 😂 This process is very cool!
