I am really excited by how this series is handling this "relationship" developing between Nanami and Yuu -- as both start working on a campaign to get Nanami elected as new Student Council President!
But amidst the "reasons" for having Yuu help, Yuu is trying to reason how she feels about Nanami, Nanami is doing damage control with her best friend, and this series' approach to sexuality and its many layers is SO intriguing!

Possible super light spoilers: . . . . . . . . It's funny that you mention Madoka, because just like the early Homura x Madoka conversations, the Nanami x Yuu conversations in the early episodes hit different with context we get in later episodes.
