I'm right there with you, though - it's so easy for me to forget they are middle school students! :D

Thanks for the reply! I think I'm just going to stop worrying about ages, it's not a show set in the real-world anyway, it's more of a fairy tale with princes and knights and such! They can all be 25-year-olds in middle school, or 13-year-olds that look 25, either way, worrying about that is missing the point, I think!

Ohhhh, thank you so much! Utena is in SUCH a great place and each week I get more and more excited!! Right along with the Apothecary Diaries! We are going to eat well the rest of this year with those two shows into 2025! I feel Utena is 14 right now? Because she's in middle school but almost high school? Still, it definitely feeds into that anime trope of making the middle/high schoolers act and feel like adults, which is wild! Thank you for the comment! :D

Loved the reaction and can't wait along with you for next week! That cliff hanger at the end feels right out of Apothecary Diaries, the way that show will just flash a single image of the upcoming episode! I am still so at odds with the ages of everyone in this show - even calling them teenagers in the reaction may be too generous! "Having all your desires filled by an elementary school student" really hits hard too, good for the show being self aware, especially with the prior episode about Mitsuru trying to become an adult too early. It's still just crazy to think Utena might be an 11 year old - and the others even younger. But it's ok, love the show, just with a teaspoon of disbelief!

Wild guess: is "bread shop" supposed to be "bank", since "bread" is Sixties slang for "money"? The gun could be a reference to bank robbing.

i find it hilariours that mikage tells tatusya he's too normal and mentally stable to be a duelist. i love when Wakabe gets more focus
