This volume has an all-out battle on Vash's "family's" ship, where we learn a little more about Vash's past there, including his connection with some of the VERY Gung Ho Gun members that was not expanded upon in the OG anime!
Wolfwood and Vash have VERY different beliefs on how to handle the violent situation on the ship, but can they reconcile their differences before either of them die? This was SUCH a great rounding out of the first deluxe volume!

Oohhhh, the Monster comparison with bread and sugar is ON POINT! Yes! I love tender expression Vash as well! And YES, Natsume and Xie Lian are great comparisons to him! Thank you! The TRIFECTA OF SWEET BEAN MC'S! We love to see it! Maybe that's why I love them so much! Tenma could be in the quadfecta, too -- does that mean Grimmer, Wolfwood, Natori/Tanuma (pick your poison) and Hua Cheng get to hang out? :P Tanuma may be too tame for that group! Thank you again! Loved the reaction & discussion! Can’t believe we’re already at the end of another volume. Continue to love the way Nightow draws Wolfwood - just completely solid black with very particularly crafted edges, such a great and consistent contrast to everything else on the pages. “Remember the taste of your father’s bread” – took me right back to Monster and the taste of sugar. Vash’s face all through chapter 19/Families was so soft and tender. I know we’ve talked about the Vash & Xie Lian parallels, but have we talked about Vash & Natsume?! The trifecta of sweet beans who struggle with their self-sacrificing ways. 🥰 Maybe a quadfecta if Tenma gets included. They should all hangout. 😂 Cannot wait for the next volume whenever this will be! ❤️
