I have been curious about Juri's character since the start of this series and we finally get a peek into her backstory...and let's just say: there's a LOT going on with our tangerine fencer!
This episode starts to peel back a layer or two concerning Utena and her "playing the prince," and what that means to not only others, but opens up questions for her to perhaps ask of herself!

In the shadow puppet story, one of them gets sick and starts talking about how the zoo is boring and she didn't want to go anyway. The other one ends the scene by saying "You really wanted to go that badly?" So my interpretation is that it was a fox and grapes story, where she was pretending she didn't like the zoo because she couldn't go because she was sick. This could relate to Juri in that she wants the miracle to be true more than anyone, but pretends to not believe in it because it hurts too much to hope.
