This show really knows how to lead you to the ends of the earth for that one moment, doesn't it? All I can say is: THANK. GOD. If that ending hadn't happened, there would have been tables flipped.
This series was definitely my most challenging watch, but these last few episodes have given us some excellent moments! I will be reading the first three light novels to see what is different from the source material to the anime adaptation. I'll hopefully have a review out ASAP for you all!

“Edge to the brink of death” - that’s such a great way to put it, hahaha!! Yeah, I don’t know if another episode alone would help or not. Yeah, the writing just doesn’t allow for it, sadly. Thank you for the comment!

Oh, I have to respectfully disagree! The first 23 episodes of Monster, the first season of AOT, and the first season of Vinland Saga have SO much character development! There is so much about multiple characters I could write about and other than Shin and Lena? Not much I can say about the others, so I’ll have to respectfully disagree with you on that one and I don’t think you’ll change my mind, haha! :) But thank you for the comment! I am intrigued but the light novels so we will see what we get!

The final scene is really precious! The problem (which is not a problem) with character development is that it takes a long time, like snk did, because they are both long series especially LN which are very long. For example in 1 season, SNK had no or very little character development, but that doesn't mean it's bad. Same about Vinland Saga for example, the s1 was a prologue but s2 is when Thorfin's character development became incredible and it'll became even more better in the coming seasons etc... so we can't compare a finished anime to a 1-season anime that adapts the beginning of a long series. S1 of 86, which adapts 3 volumes of the LN, is only like a "prologue"; the story, plot and their development really begins after their meeting.

"How are you going to end the show?" "I'm going to edge the audience to the brink of death." It would be cool to see what Lena had been up to and I'm always down for more Cyclops content, but even with another episode, I don't think there's room in the story for it. You can't put it in after Shin thinks Lena is dead or you weaken the Lena ex machina in the Morpho fight. After that, it's redundant and would just be extra padding before the reunion everyone is waiting for.
