Pacha's Quest v8.1
🕑 Added 2024-02-24 00:05:02 +0000 UTCFinally finished the new area for Pacha's Quest. Despite how long it took, this update focuses mostly on a side area for the game which can be accessed through Araya's Temple. The next update should complete the main story line.
Also, this will likely be the last update in which the Patreon content is separate from the free game. Outside of the pandemic, I'm no longer able to treat this project as a full time pursuit (as the increasingly erratic update schedule shows), and don't feel good charging anything for it if it's not going to be something I can dedicate my full time toward.
Thank you to everyone who has supported this project, offered suggestions, found the many many bugs, and just generally encouraged me in creating this. I'm very grateful and feel immensely lucky for all the support I have recieved, especially given how bad I have been at replying to messages and managing the social aspects of this project.
Edit 29/02/2024: Bug fixes
Defeating frogs would sometimes cause the game to crash.
Feeding a collared predator to Ti before recruiting her would cause a crash
The key to the second part of the graveyard wasn't always showing up in the lower grave
The thunderbolt bow's special skill was causing a crash
Defeating Mertia caused the game to go into an infinite loop with her getting eaten over and over again.

You can import saves from the free version, but you'll need to send Pacha to any inn and have her sleep there. Until then, it will still assume you are using the free version.

Something seemed to go wrong with uploading the files last time resulting in the links pointing to the old version for some reason. Have deleted and reuploaded the files so the new links should work now.

(Also, the # symbol in the mega link apparently gives Patreon some problems. Clicking on the link above will take you to a broken page that is missing everything after the # symbol but nothing I've tried will change that. Copy and pasting the full link should work though).

Ti’s located in Traders Town, hiding in one of the back alleys. She is probably the hardest to find out of all the recruitable characters though.

Hi, sorry about that. I meant to mention this in the text above but it got missed. You can make save files from the free version work as long as you take Pacha to an inn and send her to sleep. Otherwise the game continues to assume you’re using the previous version. Sorry about that.

Sorry about that. I think it's caused by using a save file from the previous version, and that sending Pacha to sleep in one of the inns should trigger the game to check which version it's supposed to be running and fix that. If not, let me know and I'll see what else might be causing it.

I’m really sorry about how long it took me to get back to you on this. If you’ve copied a save file from a game that was running on the free version, then you’ll need to take Pacha to any inn and have her sleep there. That should trigger the game to update which version it thinks you are running. There was supposed to be a note about that in the text above, but I missed it. Sorry about that and hopefully that fixes the problem. If not, let me know and I’ll try to see anything else that might be causing that.

Hi, I’m sorry for the slow reply. I’ve checked both the links from a new game again, and they both seem to allow access to the patreon area so I think it might be a saved game issue. If you’re using a save file from a game that was a free version, then try sending Pacha to any inn and going to sleep there. That should update the flag that checks which version you’re using. Sorry about that, I meant to post that in the description but realize it got missed. I’ve added it now. Hopefully that fixes it, but in not, let me know.

I figured it out, it was just an issue caused by using an old save. Starting over with a totally fresh download and creating a fresh save fixed my problem.

I also crash when I fight first frog, and if I beat Merita it sends me into an infinite loop where the end of battle chat between Pacha and Merita just keeps repeating

Glad to see a new update! If we'd be okay with continuing to support, even with the limited time you've got to set aside for it, is it something we can choose to do? I'm happy to continue to do so, don't need early access to updates or anything, just happy to support the project during whatever time you can set aside for it!

…And I literally just checked for an update on this, like, two days ago… XD Seriously though, I’m impressed by your stubbornness to see this one through, and I wish I could say the same with my own projects. Even with as slow as the updates are, it’s never been a matter of IF the next update is coming, just WHEN. I’m looking forward to seeing what this one brings, and I’ll poke you with bug reports as I find them. ^.^

hi! sorry to bother you but i ran into an error when i've beaten the first frog, then the game crashed "Script 'Game_Interpreter' line 450: NoMethodError occurred. undefined method 'state?' for nil:NilClass", any ideas as to what i should do?
