I think the key to understanding this effect is to realize that the change in direction creates a centrifugal force. This force can be observed in the video clips where the last-end of the chain comes out of the container moves around the crest & then wants to move HORIZONTALLY away from the container (& does so). That horizontal tendency PROVES centrifugal force is at work. This force essentially causes a standing-wave that appears as an elevated loop of chain.

I loved this video! Do thyristors work in an even remotely similar way to relays? When would you use one over the other?

Mehdi's squeaky fiddling reminds me of this .. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZER6HgIaGc

DIN relays have what are completely non-intuitive assigned numbers for the relay terminals. Can anyone explain how they came up with this numbering scheme and what the numbering means?

I don't think receiver have relays, unless we are talking about different types of receivers

Don't touch that!!!! Oh...
Thanks Mehdi for *relaying* this great information onto us!
Does the welding and slapping you mentioned around 8:20 explain why slapping a receiver makes it work (removes the weld on poorly integrated relays)?
