Use an insect! Like on Harry Potter. You can demonstrate the Imperious & Killing curse simultaneously.

Przemysław Brojewski

Getting the air humidity right might play a big role - to low and the thing jumps up and down, to much - and it shocks before even rising. Now let me check if Jay says something about it...

Jason Williamson

Me this whole video: “He’s getting too close...” Mehdi: “Yeeeeeooooow!”

Zac

could you put an enclosure around the little piece of foil to keep it from running away, or would the enclosure also charge up and affect the motion of the little foil?

GK

You totally just reminded me that there's a thing called a "lifter" that you can power with high voltage! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ion-propelled_aircraft !!! Me and a buddy of mine built one out of balsa wood and aluminum foil and an old crt monitor coil... We had much fun watching it catch itself on fire after it shorted out mid-flight! Haha! Here's where we got the instructions: http://jnaudin.free.fr/lifters/main.htm

You should try bending the teeth on your floaty thing in opposite directions to make a propeller. That should get you something both levitating and spinning.

DO NOT REVERSE THE POLARITY! You could rip a hole in spacetime!

I like how you take precautions so the shock wont go through your chest and then shock yourself with the left hand... stay safe bro

40 Years later.. Pac Man ghosts learn how to actually levitate...

??!DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME!?? !!!!!!CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!!!!!

Would a cylindrical piece of foil work better? Maybe an upside down crown? Could you use one of the electrostatic wristbands to connect to the HV?

Craig Larson

You brighten my day!

A tip to avoid pain when getting shocked, is to apply a very thin layer of Vaseline. Thin enough to let the current pass through. It will have a sort of capacitive effect, spread the charge, and won't touch the skin directly! Oh, and thanks for those fun videos and have a wonderful day!!

Rebecca

one more exciting video ^^

ElectroBOOM [Mehdi Sadaghdar]

Hey that was a fun experiment (minus the pain)! Thanks for the idea

Mehdi - "It seems this thing levitates better with pointy stuff" Literally falls right over lol. Great take Mehdi. Glad you succeeded! Now stop being funnier than me. Yeah, as for the angle of the hand, that's why I stood up, because it gets the wrist and arm out of the way of influence.

Jesus that notification almost killed me 🤣
