Operation: New Skates ๐ผ
🕑 Added 2025-05-10 23:01:56 +0000 UTCHi guys! ๐ As I mentioned in the previous post, I set a personal goal for my birthday (next Saturday) ๐ช I want to land a specific jump Iโve been working on for a while ๐ผ๐ฅบ
Iโve been training a lot, going to my classes, taking private lessons, and doing my best to improveโฆ but unfortunately, I discovered that my current skates are slightly too big, and the plate is pulling to the left ๐ฉ That throws off my balance completely, especially on the right edge, which explains why this jump has been so frustrating. I simply canโt fully reach the edge I need ๐ซ
Since skates are expensive, I decided to start a little support campaign to help me replace them ๐ฅบ On OF, Iโm using the Goal feature, but since Patreon doesnโt have that option โ and I know many of my patronites donโt really like OF โ I decided to use KoโFi for this instead ๐ On KoโFi, Iโm keeping the campaign updated with all donations, so we can actually see how far we are from the goal ๐

๐ก Why are skates so expensive?
Because for professional skates, each part is sold separately! Itโs a custom setup:
โข Boot (reinforced leather, must be very precise in size)
โข Plate (mounted separately, influences control and stability)
โข Bearings, wheels, toe stops (all chosen based on weight and discipline)
And since Iโll be changing both the size and the plate type, Iโll need to remount everything from scratch ๐ฅบ
