Time for a monthly blog before the month gets away from me.
I guess I’ll start by talking about the things I alluded to in my last blog but couldn’t talk about as Chapter 8 hadn’t been fully released to everyone yet. Well, it’s been out a month now so if you haven’t played it, you’re shit out of luck.
So, I mentioned that was extremely anxious about how people were going to take that chapter, and the main reason for that Ruth. Don’t get me wrong, I love ALL my girls, but sometimes Ruth takes the top spot. And I knew she was a lot of people’s favorite girl already too, even without any romantic/naughty content with her yet. The number of times I was asked when stuff with her was coming (and the number of times I had to lie in response) was testament to that.
So yeah, I needed her first love scene to hit hard, and different, and I wrote this extremely tender and romantic sex scene a long time ago because I thought it would be fun to flip the script on what people might be expecting with such a rebellious and crass “bad girl”, only to then flip it back and go full on mega-fuck in the second half of the scene. I’ve been fraught with dread about how it was going to go down with the community ever since I first got an inkling that Ruth was turning into a fan favorite. Would it be good enough? Would it live up to expectations?
Turns out, you guys seemed to love it. I’ve even seen it listed in the conversation of “best AVN sex scene” up there with the likes of Alex’s first scene from Eternum (which Ruth even references herself), and that blows my mind. That scene, along with the whole fight scene and the post-fight discussion seems to have, for a lot of people, propelled Ruth into the upper echelon of AVN LIs, alongside Jaye, Sage, Nova, Elspeth and Jasmine (all redheads, weirdly enough). Again, that also blows my mind. My imposter syndrome is so real.
I was also very nervous about how everyone was going to take Lucía’s normal path storyline. Would it be enough for everyone to forgive her? Naturally, I was worried people were going to start hating on Evelyn too. Turns out this scene has gone down great too. Many people are now saying that they’re changing their canon playthroughs to have Lucía on the normal path instead. As much as I like that I’ve been able to do that, I hope people still explore the other path for her too. I included the hint that she dreamed about being MC’s fucktoy for a reason. She’s going to take a backseat for a while anyway, so you’ll have time to decide.
So, all in all, it was perhaps my best received release yet and now I can finally relax. At least, that is until the next big chapter I’ll be anxious about.
Little update on terms of development.
Season 1 Steam – I’m still a ways off the wishlists I need, but I’m still a ways off release too. There is a huge proofread going on right now to iron out some of the typos and grammar issues that have slipped through the net. I’m waiting on that to be done before I begin to get some translations done. Only when they are done can I even think about getting it fully on Steam. So, in the meantime, please give it a wishlist if you haven’t already.
Chapter 9 – Development of this is still plodding along in my spare time. Currently at 1100 renders and still a fair way to go. I expect this will once again be my biggest update for render count yet. I’m currently working through “the big scene” (I guess) for this chapter, which has three completely separate versions depending on choices. I’m almost done with the second version of this scene. There are even some nice scenes with Riley and Evelyn that you won’t see unless you’re one of the three people dumb enough to reject Ruth. Can you imagine if Origin Story ever got accused of being heavily kinetic? Oh… wait. :’(
Here's a little synopsis of Chapter 9 so you’ll know what to expect: Evelyn learns of MC’s new girl, MC begins his training, and Georgia attempts to understand Amber’s invisibility.
Character wise, the biggest girls this chapter will be Georgia & Amber, along with Tanya, Evelyn, Ruth, Riley & Parker. Oh, and it’s Ghostraven’s biggest chapter yet. Sorry Sour, and anyone else anticipating Coldsnap content. Next time.
In other news, our resident supervillain mod and Into The Night Shift band member, PandaDrummer, is going to host another Origin Story quiz night on the discord, so far expected to be on November 9th. So, if you feel like flexing your OS knowledge for the chance of a prize ($20 Steam Gift Card, I believe). I’ll do a full announcement on it soon when the full details have been ironed out.

Happy Halloween to all those celebrating 🎃! I've read up to the third paragraph and LALALALALALA, I'm not reading any more 🤣. I'm one of the few people who hasn't played the last chapter yet. I've reached the point at which the game stops being kinetic, but I got distracted by other things for some reason. I have to continue though 🫡. In my playthrough, Evelyn is happy, even though she's in heat all the time. I've forgiven Lucia, and treat her well. However, I still haven't obtained the best power in the game and I want to understand Parker and her shady studies.

I played it (unofficially, of course 😁). I could see and understand that. Ruth IS SO POPULAR. PLUS she WAS just so beautiful. Plus, she was just different compared to the other LIs. She was actively trying to jump on MC. People like what they can't get sometimes 😅. Amber, Parker, Riley, Ellen, Lake, and Raven 😍🥰. But safe to say, I always had a thing for her, but then I always love all my girls equally 😍🥰. It didn't fool me; I knew how Ruth's sex scene was going to go 😋. I mean, have you seen/played her character arc 😂? Nice, JD… Congratulations on Ruth's popularity 🥳👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻! And up there with some GOATS 😉 (I would have added Nami, aka Hot Cheetos, from Summer Gone, another redhead 😂)! Not me 😁… I have always said I could change Lucía, and I believe there was a nice side to her. Everybody called me "fool and crazy." BUT I WAS THE FIRST ONE 😍✊🏻! You don't have to worry about that… I'm playing both ✌🏻 paths 😅. I'm sure with how well-received CH 8 was. That the game and the wishlist are going to get higher and see an increase in support/numbers 😉👍🏻. "Oh, JD 😂… that number is JUST going to get bigger and bigger with each CH (kind of like our Harem 😅)." Reject Ruth! I could never 😵… FOR THE STORY, I MUST 💪🏻🔥! Well, time to start another playthrough 😅. *pointing at JD* "You clever boy, you." Amber's moment is coming up 😍🥰!!!! Woooooooooooooo!!! *fly into the sky 🦸♂️* That's a lot of girls 😛!!!
