Progress Update - Episode 15

Quick little progress update.
Still working on the morning scene since it has a few variations. I hope I can finish it this week. I've had enough of creating MC waking up scenes. I've made quite a few already. Maybe I should just skip them in the future, but then again, it's an easy way to see when a new day starts. Or maybe instead of waking up in bed, MC's taking his morning shower or eating in the kitchen. Something to consider once I start working on the second day of this update.
I've also started the code rewrite. I've finished the first 2 episodes already. They are small, and not much is going on with pathing and relationship points, so it was pretty simple. Episode 3 is also almost complete, and it will take more time once I start working on episode 4, because the biggest changes begin there due to the Riverside girls. While working on the code, I'm also taking a look at the script and polishing it if necessary.
Here's another big change I'm considering doing. When I first created the first episodes, very early on, you had to decide between Erynn and Layla. It's the scene after the club, if you stay with Erynn or go with Layla to the train station. Depending on your decision there, one of those routes would be closed. But after a lot of feedback, I changed it to you don't have to decide and continue on both their paths. That decision has bitten me in the ass so many times already. Even to this point in the game, you can still date both girls. Which doesn't make any sense at all. If you date both girls, Alexis knows you're with Layla, and Erynn probably tells her about the date and other stuff. That route was never planned, and it's just a big mess imo. And because of that, I had to scrap lots of scenes involving both Erynn and Layla because they couldn't be in the same scene because of their relationship status with the MC. Meaning, I'm considering reverting that decision, so you'll have to make a "harder" choice earlier on again. I know that it will shorten certain routes, and some of you probably couldn't wait for the drama that would cause if you're finally caught, but as I said, it doesn't make sense. Plus, there are other combinations that will cause the same drama if or when you're getting caught.

I like the idea of making the choice at the train station sorta. But it's ambiguous. Make it plain, it can be early on. Make it where you can have a conversation, just tell Erynn or Lalya you're not interested. That's a choice between two girls, not a choice to go on a train or not.

I'm barely into the game, but I'm already tired of Zach. Since he and the MC have been separated for some time it would be realistic for the MC to say "I've grown up but you haven't" and leave him behind.

Please, iam begging you to, reverse the change.. i skipped the erynn storyline because i hate the Ethan Part. Played some others and where happy then it was time for the Valeria Storyline and although i skipped Ethan entirely somehow the Story is arround Valeria helping me with Ethan but i never triggerd it. because i do not help erynn in anyway. Now the next Storyline (Valeria) is killed of for me :( And now i find out Alexis Storyline is killed, too so 3 Storylines killed because they all are abuse, blackmail themed.

i would prefer to making the choice, too becaus the Erynn Ethan Story line ist killing the game for me. I love the game so far, i love all the twist and turns but i would love to skip this part, i don´t know its me only, but i would prefer to have an option to skip it entirely even if its a prompt leave it to the Adults to resolve the shit and there is a solution about it without going through all the shit. Sorry for some harsh words here but i am liking the game and want to have explore more of it but i can´t everytime Ethan or the Abuse Storyline comes up, it kills the game for me.

I think story wise it makes more sense that the choice between Layla and Erynn would be later on, however, i don't really think it's a thing that matters and having to do extra work just to have to make the same choice later on seems silly. I'd much rather have updates to the future story than worrying about making that specific thing perfectly logically consistent, sometimes in real life a minor thing like that really can mean a world of difference, so that could be equally true here. If you go with Layla, Erynn loses interest, if you go with Erynn, Layla loses interest. Not that hard to imagine, so don't sweat it, just revert.

Do it. Don't let people pressure you away from your vision, People don't know what they want half the time. Making decisions that turn out important in hindsight with incomplete information is a very realistic part of life.
