Time to reveal this month's bonus model and the first big release of 2025 - Broken Symbol by our returning guest artist Katerina Likhacheva!
I am not going to lie, it's hard to pump out 5 models each month for an extended period of time and still keep the same spark and excitement that drove us into this industry to begin with. Burnout is something we all have to face at one point, and, all things considered, I believe we've been managing quite nicely, never allowing it to impact the quality of our models (sometimes out of sheer stubborness, if nothing else). Which is why I am doubly happy to still occasionally get excited about some character, and this is exactly what happened in this case (actually, same with Mute Sidekick, really). From the moment the respective episode was out, I knew from the start - this was the the model we had to make! And I knew exactly who to ask! Katerina had proven time and again she would be up to the task, so I was ready to negotiate as hard as I needed. Luckily, I didn't have to, as she was just as excited about the opportunity as myself. So, in the end, it all came down to breaking my own rule of "not sculpting the same character twice", but eh, I'll live through it (the rule is still in place though, in case you suddenly get any funny ideas of introducing the entire Stellar Blade wardrobe to the suggestion channel). I know I shouldn't play favorites and, don't get me wrong, I am really proud of many models we've made so far, but I admit I couldn't be more excited to have this particular one completed, so I could place it a shelf next to Rebecca, glance at it every now and then and think: "This is why we are still doing it." Yeah, I like my models to have an emotional aspect to them, so what? xD
