Anything he didn't know, they needed to flip through the endless pages to find.
Chappy wasn't just a spellbook though. He was also an encyclopedia. A creature of his status was on par with a legendary piece of equipment, especially given how versatile he could be to someone.

Marwin fetched the Pillar of the Damned and the dismantled orbal capacitor. Lani pieced the contraption back together with Eliza's help.
The meisterium core was anti-magic in nature. They couldn't cut into it with magic tools or with magic. It had to be done by hand, using a chisel and hammer.
Lapis laid naked on a table with her chest open to give them access to the crystal core. Marwin stood over her with the tools, chisel primed to carve into the meisterium.
"Are you absolutely sure about this, Lapis? We don't know how much more damaged your core will become by chipping at it again," Marwin explained.

Lapis' eyes opened slightly.
"I hope… we can help… your friend," Lapis whispered before her hand went limp.
"Lapis is still alive. Her core remains active. I can tell by my unpowered magical staff," Eliza assured them.
"All that's left to do next…" Marwin was the first to shoot a look at the Pillar of the Damned, followed by everyone else.
"Uhm… I-I don't mean to interrupt a tense moment, but maybe we should take this outside? Firing a powerful beam of anti-magic energy inside the Illuminant Repository might be a little…" Lani trailed off to let them come to the conclusion themselves.
They brought Lapis, the orbal capacitor, and the Pillar of the Damned out to the arena behind Aidenhall. Using their status as instructors, Eliza and Marwin corralled students out of the premises.
Kanae plunged the base of the staff into the dirt so that it was in the standing position. Lani held the orbal capacitor with her back to Aidenhall and facing the staff. If the beam were to shoot wide, the energy would fly out into the distance rather than potentially hitting the palace.
"The stadium is clear. We're ready to begin," Marwin said on his way back.
"I've informed the Grand Eye and several Saint Priests I could find to be on standby. Just out of an abundance of caution should Haxgorah try anything. They have a teleportation pellet in case we need backup," Eliza explained.
To use the very thing meant to usher devils into this world against them… Would this really work? Kanae could only hope. At best, Edina would finally awaken. At worst, they would doom Radevic.
Everyone got into place and signaled to Lani that they were prepared. The Saint Priest fiddled with the contraption for a moment, then it began to vibrate and hum. A gentle, yet terrible sound that reminded Kanae of the moment she lost Arenade. The air around them started distorting. They saw ripples before their very eyes, like the vibrations were tampering with reality.
"You seek… to expunge Haxgorah?!" a wrathful voice boomed.
Smoke billowed from the Pillar of the Damned, much like when they tried to bring Lapis near it the first time. Two, piercing red eyes stared down at them. The smog and cinders formed a demonic appearance that towered over them.
"You're not wanted in this world, devil. Begone from here!" Lani shouted.
The hair on the back of Kanae's neck stood on end. An intensely hot beam fired out of the orbal capacitor, dissipating the smokescreen and hitting the Pillar of the Damned head on. Just as quickly, however, Haxgorah's smokey apparition reformed to hold back the blast.
"Lani, get up!" Chappy cried.

All that remained was the Pillar of the Damned, now lying flat on the ground. A lateral crack ran down the topmost skull.
"Master, are you alright?" Esta pushed over debris and dirt to pull them out.
"What about… the others?" Kanae coughed.
"Everyone's fine." She gestured to the three spellcasters who were still standing and had brushed off the blast.
"What happened?!" Sheena Darrow came rushing toward them with a small army of Aidenhall knights at her back. She grinded to a halt at the destruction left behind. "Oh, great. Because I'm a thaumaturge, fixing this all up falls to me!"
"Aha… S-S-Sorry, Sheena! At least we've expelled Haxgorah from the staff. Chappy says he doesn't sense the devil anymore," Lani explained.
That didn't make it any better. With a click of her tongue, Sheena went to work clearing the mess. As a thaumaturge, her magic focused on miracles and works of wonders. Telekinesis was one of them. She moved large pieces of rubble away. Anything that was only slightly damaged, she was able to repair them back to their original state. The giant hole in the stadium might take a lot more work.
"Hey, Chappy? Why did it sound like that devil recognized you?" Lani asked.

"If you will believe it, Edina's condition started improving right before you came. I was administering mana via Restore Mana and actually hit capacity. Normally, that wouldn't be the case because something seemed to be continuously draining her. Whatever it was is gone now!"
