Group trips are just so stressful. My senior graduation trip was so bad that when me and my friends got back, it sent me into a severe depression and our friend group had the weirdest tension 😭😭 when we got there, we couldn’t check into our hotel bc one of my friends was 17. My family was on a trip at the same time in the city that we were in and we had to stay w my racist grandmother in a room for a night until they left the next morning. it was so painfully awkward. a lot more horrible things happened but it’s such a long story

This podcast was so real. I moved to the US from Ghana at 8 years old, and I remember on the flight from Amsterdam to the US, my brother and I sat next to this random white woman on the plane (my dad couldn't get a seat with us,) and she just became our grandma for the flight. I don't remember much of it, and I barely remember her face, but it made me feel so happy for those few hours, and I think it made me really hopeful of my new life in the US.
