Hisao and Lilly's Married Life: Chapter 7
🕑 Added 2020-01-28 06:31:55 +0000 UTCLilly’s stomach growled hungrily at her as she prepared tea for her groups’ lunch. She hadn’t eaten since breakfast, something that had become sort of an oddity to the buxom blonde. She hadn’t had an especially large one either, just one or two cupcakes with a bowl of cereal… maybe three. It was such an oddity to her, her increased appetite seemed to strike her overnight. She silently hushed her aching tummy, and hoped that her dutiful husband would bring a suitable meal.
It was not meant to be however. Hisao, in an attempt to please his wife after such a feast-filled day, had actually gotten her less than she was used to. He had simply brought her a small bowl of rice with chicken, whilst he enjoyed a shrimp and vegetable laden lunch. Even Rai had more than Lilly did, happily chewing away at some sushi with a bowl of Miso soup. She was also eating away at her plate of cupcakes. She had offered some to Lilly, but Lilly had politely refused. She had her own plate, after all, and she could manage being on an empty stomach… although Rai’s loud eating was starting to get to her, as her stomach vibrated.
Lilly finished her meal rather quickly, and listening to the others was simply torturous, so she tried to sidetrack her hunger pangs with conversation.
“Hisao, are you excited for cooking class tonight? Mrs. Kimura seemed quite pleased with our recent performance.”
Hisao slurped up a bit of shrimp, which both annoyed the woman and enticed her at the same time. She wanted to just reach over to his plate and pluck some food straight from it… he actually probably wouldn’t mind, she thought to herself.
Lilly had been so ingrained thinking about stealing some of Hisao’s food she had completely missed what he had just said. Only when he stopped talking did she realize he had been speaking at all.
“I’m sorry, what was that? My mind is a bit distracted today.” She said.
“Oh, uh, well, I said I had actually wanted to talk to you about that. I actually sort of can’t go to the cooking class tonight.” He said, sounding resigned. “The good news is, I was offered a new position! Yamada, the gym teacher, offered me a spot on the coaching staff!”
“Oh…” Lilly replied, her face falling a bit. “So will we not be doing Kim’s class anymore?” She was a bit put off by this revelation… He didn’t even ask her if it was okay with her that he’d accept the position.
“Nonono,” he quickly replied. “No, we’ll still be totally open to that, the track team’s having a special meeting after school today because I’ll be coaching them now. I plan on making the most of it too, I’ll put them through my own routine and see what they’re capable of.”
Lilly was glad that it wouldn’t disrupt their classes… but she was still a little upset he didn’t consult her. Maybe if she wasn’t so hungry, she’d have been in a better mood.
“Yea,” Hisao continued, “the team will meet Monday, Wednesday’s, and Friday’s after classes, and a meet on Saturday’s. I figured that since you’re going to be with the cooking club on those days, I might as well do something to help around as well.”
Oh… Ohh… Lilly mentally kicked herself. She was upset with him for accepting a new position when she had already done that exact same thing. If anything, he should have been upset with her… yet he just took it in stride and was likely smiling right now.
‘Hisao, you shame me,’ she thought to herself. She reached over to where he sat and he took her hand, squeezing it reassuringly.
“Don’t worry, I’ll make it up to you, okay? How about Friday, after we’re both finished with our clubs, you and I go out to that new Italian place that opened in town? La Scarola, or something like that?”
“Ooo,” Rai cut in, “I went there with my mom and dad when I moved here. That place is wonderful!”
Lilly smiled. Hisao always found ways to reaffirm her love for him, and his kindness and willingness to act were some of the things that drew her to him in the first place. The food was just a bonus.
“That sounds lovely, Hisao.” She squeezed his hand affectionately. “And congratulations on the new coach position. Be careful though, or you might become as run happy as Ms. Emi” She smiled slyly at her own taunt.
“Haha, I don’t think I could ever get that bad. You’d kill me if I let me English fall so far behind. Oh, sorry, Emi is our old friend from when we went to school.” Hisao’s voice had shifted, he must have been addressing Rai. “She was super excitable, but she could be a bit of a…” He paused, looking for the right word.
“Dunce.” Lilly finished for him, and she giggled. “Though she certainly took it in stride.”
“Please,” Hisao said, “no running puns. Ugh. The position comes with a bit of a pay increase though, so I think we can afford to splurge a bit on a fancy dinner.” He said to her.
“That’s wonderful, dear.” She replied. Then she shifted her attention to Rai. “Rai, since Hisao will be busy tonight, would you mind accompanying me to the cooking class after our shopping trip? I’d love to have your company.”
“Sure! That sounds fun. I loved cooking club.”
“I’m sure you two will have a wonderful time then.” Hisao said cheerfully.
Lunch soon ended, and each teacher returned to their classes. Lilly and Rai’s class continued on with their English studies, with the rest of the day passing without event.
“Alright,” Hisao said, fussing, “you know you can call me at any time if you need anything. I’ll keep my phone on me.
“Yes, dear. I have your number set into my phone. And if not, well I haven’t spoken to Akira in some time, I’m sure she’d love a call.” Lilly laughed at her own joke, placing her hand over her mouth as she giggled. Hisao couldn’t help but admire her ability to be so light about even her own blindness.
“Well if you do, tell her I said hello.” Hisao replied, and he pulled her into a hug.
Hisao squeezed Lilly’s soft body as he held her, but the hug only lasted a moment and they separated.
“Shall we be off, then?” Lilly said to Rai.
Rai nodded, then quickly affirmed out loud once she realized, and they began walking towards the parking lot.
Hisao watched them go, admiring the stark difference between the two women. Rai, standing so small and skinny next to his tall and plump wife. He could see her sides muffin-topping over her pants, and watched her steps sway as her large thighs rubbed together as she walked.
He wondered if Rai would remain unaffected by his wife’s ever growing gravity, or if she might start developing her own.
He looked at himself and noted that he’d been able to avoid it… at least physically.
Mentally?
Hisao had to look one more time at his wife’s slight wobble, and had to force himself to turn away.
As he left, an odd thought occurred to him.
‘I wonder how Rai can manage to reach the pedals.’

Rai was extremely glad that her friend was blind, and therefore she didn’t have to explain what the phonebook was doing in her driving seat.
As the girls pulled out of the school parking lot, Rai asked Lilly, “Hey, would you like to stop and get something to eat before we go to the mall?”
“Sure, that sounds wonderful,” Lilly replied.
Rai looked over at the woman who had rested her hand on top of her belly, head tucked back against the headrest and deepening her double chin. She looked utterly relaxed, which Rai was very glad about given that she was actually feeling kind of stressed. Rai wasn’t exceptionally good with people, and now here she is taking her boss out to lunch and going shopping with her, and even attending a class with her as a stand-in for her husband!
Rai wondered if Lilly had trouble with people as well, and that that is why they became so close so quickly is because they both don’t really have anyone else.
Rai drove them to a Chinese food place that she’d quickly grown fond of nearby the school, and the women were quickly seated by a helpful staff member.
“Do you have anything you’d suggest here?” Lilly asked. “I’d need your assistance with the menu.”
“Oh, yea.” Rai said. “Well, the orange chicken here is amazing, but I think I’m going to get the noodles. They’re both really good.”
“Orange chicken, it will be then.” Said Lilly.
As their waiter came to take their orders, Rai asked the waiter if she could add a second helping to her meal. “For sharing,” she explained to Lilly. Lilly chose to do the same, and the waiter bowed his head as he left.
“So what kind of clothing are you looking to get?” Rai asked.
“Looking…” Lilly replied, her face falling slightly.
“Oh gosh, I am so-” Rai began, but Lilly interrupted her giggling. Rai felt herself flush as she realized Lilly had been messing with her. “Oh you jerk, I actually felt bad there.”
Lilly laughed a bit harder then. “Come now, it’s quite alright. Believe me, I’m used to it by now.” She smiled at Rai. “As for clothing, I’m ‘looking’ to get pretty much everything. My entire wardrobe is gone through, so I’m in need of quite a few things. However, I most certainly need a new dress for Friday, now that Hisao and I have dinner plans. It’s been such a long time since we’ve been out.” She sighed happily, and Rai could tell she was perfectly content.
Their food came, and the girls ate away at it until nothing remained. They had both shared a modest amount of their meals, and Rai walked away feeling quite stuffed. She insisted on paying when she saw Lilly go for her purse.
“Ahahah, my treat. I invited you out for food, I pay for it. It’s only fair.”
Lilly had protested, but Rai convinced her that she was going to pay. Instead, Lilly made sure to tip the waiter, something Rai thought odd but said nothing about.
‘Maybe it’s her foreign side showing,’ Rai thought to herself. It was then that it occurred to her that she was honestly not sure what nationality Lilly was. Maybe she was English, she certainly is finely mannered. Then again, her love for food seemed pretty American…
The women left the food stop and headed to the mall.
As they entered the mall, Rai asked Lilly if she knew any of the local stores.
“Hmmm,” she replied. “Is there a sort of directory anywhere nearby? I’d like to go dress shopping first.”
Rai located a map of the mall, and found a rather small store that seemed to be exactly what they were looking for. She and Lilly walked to the store, but along the way she began to feel something was off. They had walked in mostly a comfortable silence, so that wasn’t it…
Rai began looking around, and noticed how many people were staring at them. No, not at them. At Lilly. Rai noticed a group of girls that had been looking at them giggle when she had noticed them staring, and one of them made a show of herself waddling. She was mocking her! Rai felt her face flush with anger, or embarrassment for her friend, or both. Quickly, and perhaps rather gruffly, she grabbed Lilly’s arm and walked briskly towards the store.
Lilly made a surprised noise, “Rai?”
“Come on Lilly, it’s right over here.”
Lilly puckered her lips, but said nothing.
They entered the store, and Rai was caught off guard by the beauty of it. There were so many dresses and outfits that had been put together, and all of them looked very finely made. The bright colors attacked her senses, and the smell of the store only helped with their overwhelming of her. She had almost forgotten about the group of girls. Almost.
“Now, Rai,” Lilly began. “I’m going to be relying on you quite heavily for this. Is that alright with you?”
“Yea, of course Lilly, I’ll help however I can.”
“Excuse me, Misses, may I help the two of you?” Rai turned, noticing that they had been approached by a store clerk. The women was smiling pleasantly at them
“Um, yes, hello.” Rai said. “My friend and I are looking to get some dresses.”
“Ahh,” the woman replied knowingly. “I’ll be happy to help you two then. Do you know your measurements already? I can outfit the both of you.”
“I’m a size one.” Rai replied.
“Well, I used to be a size 4, but that was a few years ago. The last time I was measured was for my wedding.” Lilly replied with a smile.
The clerk nodded her head. “Well, we’ll give you a complimentary measurement check. I’ll call an associate to take you to the side room. You, Ms.” She said to Rai, “I will help you personally. Is that alright?”
“Yea, that’s fine. I’ll help you pick out something when you get your measurements, okay Lilly?”
“Yes, that will work.” She said to the clerk.
She beckoned for another clerk, an older man who looked like Rai’s grandfather, who came forward to the group. “Ah, do one of you two need to be measured?” he asked.
“Yes, that would be me. Please escort me to the fitting room.” Lilly said, offering her arm to the man.
The clerk hesitated, but only for a moment as he took her arm and led Lilly away, leaving the woman to help Rai.
“Alright, Ms. Do you have anything in mind?”
Lilly had been escorted into a side room with the male clerk, and he had promptly begun measuring her… which was honestly a bit strange. Lilly was used to speaking with the person who took her measurements, who often complimented her several times as the process went on. She reflected on the past times she had gone through the process…
Maybe it had been because Akira had almost always been with her. She smiled at the memory of one clerk saying her ‘boyfriend out there’ was pretty lucky. She felt she really should give her sister a call to check up on her.
The whole measuring process just felt uncomfortable to the woman, and she couldn’t really place her finger on what it was… until the clerk wrapped the tape around her waist. It suddenly dawned on her that the clerk was using far more tape than she had been accustomed to. She suddenly began feeling extremely self-conscious. The feeling that only increased as the man wrapped the tape measurer around each of her legs, and she consciously had to step apart so that he could fit the tape in between her legs.
“Alright, Ms.” The man said when he had finished. “I’ve got your measurements written down here. Would you like me to give them to your friend?”
“Umm, can you please read them aloud to me?” she responded, fearful of what was to come.
“Sure. Your measurements are 99.3cm for your bust, 81cm for your waist, and 110.2cm for your hips. Your size is about a size 14, with size 16 hips.”
Lilly was floored by the news. She didn’t even know how to respond, what to say. The last she had checked, her measurements were 90/60/89. She couldn’t have gotten over twenty centimeters added to her waist and hips, it just wasn’t possible!
“I’m sorry, are you sure that’s right?” she asked the man.
“Yup, I can double check if you like. There’s more on the sheet, your legs ar-”
“That’s quite alright.” She said, cutting him off. It was evident that it was anything but alright. Her hand fell to her waist and she seemed to just take in herself.
‘I’m fat,’ she thought to herself. ‘I’m actually really fat. There’s no way I’m still just bloated, right?’ Her hands explored her body for the first time in weeks as she took in just how much more of her was there. It slowly dawned on her that all of her clothing may not have actually shrunken in the wash.
‘How did it ever get like this…’ she groped her stomach in both her hands, finding real purchase in a formally tight area. Then she remembered all the eating, the constant hunger, the extreme tiredness she had been feeling lately, and it began to actually make sense.
Lilly was not a woman to break down in front of strangers, but she felt herself on the edge of freaking out. After all of this time, she had ended up as a big fat pig.
Lilly stepped out from the room, the clerk asking if she still needed help behind her. ‘I have to get out of here. I have to-’ *oomph*
“Ouch, oh hey Lilly.” Rai said. “I picked out some dresses for you to try. Did you get your measurements?”
Lilly had walked straight into Rai. ‘I probably nearly ran her over with my huge, fat, stomach.’ Lilly thought angrily.
“I think you’ll look especially good in this one.” Rai continued, unabashed.
“Yes,” Lilly scoffed, “If I can even fit myself into it.” Lilly felt bad even as the words left her mouth. Rai had nothing to do with it. This wasn’t her fault.
Rai said nothing for a moment, then said “Lilly is everything okay?” in a hushed voice.
Lilly sighed, tried to get her temper under control. It wouldn’t do to let herself be seen like this. “No, Rai. I’m fine. Thank you for your help.”
“Good!” Rai responded loudly, and then she shoved the dress into Lilly’s chest, who reflexively closed on it. “Now, try this on.”
Lilly was a bit taken aback at the forcefulness of the comment, but Rai grabs her by the arm and leads her into a dressing room. She began to describe the dress, it was a blue dress with golden patterns woven into it. Lilly tried it on, and it fit almost perfectly. Her hips were a bit snug, but Rai told her it made her figure even sharper and the dress hugged her curves perfectly. Lilly was still trying to get used to the idea of having such huge curves.
“Ugh, you look so pretty! It goes great with your eyes, Lilly, and the golden highlights your hair perfectly. You just have to let me do your hair for your date, haha I’m not letting you get away with that pony tail. Ooo and your Nails! I could paint them for you.”
Rai continued, but Lilly sort of tuned her out. She was a bit overwhelmed, first by her apparent size and now by Rai’s friendship. The girl really didn’t seem to care about Lilly’s weight, and was genuinely excited for her. She was also being extremely helpful… The dress certainly felt nice, and she was offering to even help with her makeup, something Lilly struggled with daily. She never really had a girl friend before that could do all of that. Sure, there was Hanako, but a majority of their time spent together was talking about personalities and discussions about life. Certainly meaningful, but nothing like this. The closest she ever came was Akira, and she wasn’t exactly an expert on women’s fashion.
Despite herself, Lilly felt happy. She smiled, and she felt a tear come to her eye.
Rai broke off about talking about getting matching shoes when she noticed. She stood behind Lilly, and was surely looking at her in the mirror. “Umm, Lilly? Are you okay?”
Lilly nodded her head. “Yea, I mean, yes. I’m okay. More than okay. Thank you Rai. For all of your help.”
Rai was silent, but then Lilly felt her move in front of her and hug her. Lilly hugged her back. “That’s what friends are for, Lilly. Thank you for being mine too.” It was the first time the women had ever really touched, and Lilly was surprised at just how small Rai was. The girl barely reached her chin with her head, standing just above shoulder height.
“Rai, do you mind if I touch your face?” Lilly asked. Rai hesitated for a moment. “I’m just curious as to what you look like.” Lilly continued.
“Okay.” Rai said, and Lilly outstretched her hand towards her. Rai guided her hand slightly, until Lilly felt her facial features. Rai had a thin face, with a small nose but what felt like a wide smile on her lips.
“Thank you Rai,” Lilly said, dropping her hand. “I only ever do that with the people I am closest to. You’re a very beautiful woman.”
“Heh, thank you.” Rai said. “You should tell my mom that. She always told me I was way too small. I’m the littlest in my family. I think you’re pretty too, Lilly. You’re so kind too, I’m really happy I was assigned to your class.”
“I am as well.” Lilly replied. She reminded herself to ask Hisao what color Rai’s hair and eyes were. “Come now, we have to get you a dress as well.”
“Well I actually have one picked out that I wanna try.” Rai said. “It’s red, so it will match my hair.”
“Oh? You have red hair?” Lilly asked.
“Oh, uhh yea, sorry I never really thought to tell you that.”
“Hmm, Rai, are you part foreign as well?” Lilly asked.
“Nope, I’m fully Japanese. Although, I’ve been meaning to ask, what nationality are you?”
Lilly giggled, raising her hand to her cheek. “Guess. I always like to hear what people think.”
Rai paused for a moment, seeming to think it over. “Hmmmm… Are you American?”
“Nope!” Lilly playfully laughed. “Even Hisao had trouble with this. Try again.”
“English? I can’t imagine anything else for an English teacher. Plus, you really seem to enjoy tea.”
Lilly laughed at the reasoning, “Close, my family is half Scottish.”
“I would have never gotten that haha.” Rai said. “The only thing I know about Scotland is from that Braveheart movie.”
“I’ve never seen it.” Lilly replied cheekily.
“Oh no, I’m so… Wait you’re messing with me again!” Rai exclaimed. Lilly just laughed.
Eventually, the two girl purchased their new dresses and left the store. They headed over to a more casual shop to purchase more day-to-day clothing. As Lilly gathered clothing to try on, she found herself getting clothing that was already a bit tight. She rationalized that the clothing would fit better when she lost the weight, and she vowed to ask Hisao to take her on a workout with him tomorrow morning. She felt her stomach balloon over the top of one of the pairs of jeans from the front and the sides, but dismissed it as simply temporary. She purchased 2 pairs of jeans, a tank top, a black horizontally striped sweater that Rai said looked wonderful on her, a new skirt, and a new pair of pajamas.
Rai, in turn, told her that she has buying a pair of yoga pants, a sundress that would probably reach to most girls’ waist but reached all the way to her knees, a white tank top, and a sunhat to go with the dress.
As they exited the casual store, Lilly asked Rai if there was some sort of gym shop, or somewhere she could get workout clothes. Rai led them to a sports store where Lilly purchased a pair of running shorts and a gym shirt.
“I’m going to ask Hisao to take me to the track with him tomorrow,” she explained.
“Ohh. Well, that sounds fun.” Rai said, though Lilly thought she had heard a bit of hesitation in her voice.
Rai had no idea what to say. She had shopped with Lilly all afternoon as the plump woman seemed to purchase increasingly shrinking clothes, in fact that sweater seemed to be the only thing that really fit her. Now that she was purchasing workout clothes, Rai thought she knew what the problem might be.
The clerk telling her her measurements must have put Lilly over the edge. She must have already known of her weight, right? Like, this couldn’t be a huge surprise to her…
Rai sighed, unsure of what to do.
The two girls passed an ice cream stand, and Rai decided to put her theory to the test.
“Hey, Lilly? There’s an ice cream stand nearby, and I’m dying to get some. Would you like a cone?”
“No, thank you Rai.” Lilly refused.
“Come on, I can’t get any unless you do, and I’m staaarrrving.” For a moment, Lilly looked ready to refuse further, but she hesitated and then finally accepted Rai’s offer.
Rai grabbed them both cones, a chocolate for herself and a vanilla for Lilly, and they sat down on a nearby bench.
“You better be careful Rai,” Lilly said, almost mournfully. “Eat too many sweets and you might end up like me.” Lilly licked away at the ice cream almost depressed as she patted her middle with her other hand.
“I don’t think I’d mind that.” Rai replied.
That certainly made the larger woman pause, and she looked sort of confusedly at Rai.
“Yea, with how often I get mistaken for a child, I could use a body like yours. Even Hisao thought I was a student.” Rai said laughing.
Lilly smiled at then, and then broke out into a small laugh. “I’m very sorry about that, Rai. Sometimes my husband speaks before knowing.”
“You’re pretty luck though, you two get along wonderfully and you guys seem like you have so much fun together.”
Lilly looked distant for a moment, and slowly a smile appeared on her lips.
“Rai, can we go back to that store we were at before? Where I got the jeans and other clothing?”
“Oh, umm, sure Lilly.”
The girls stood up, finishing their ice cream cones, and Rai led them back to the casual clothing store. There, Lilly returned the clothing that she had bought, and had Rai help her pick them out in her actual size. She even got a larger sweater.
“I’m going to ask Hisao to take me on his morning workout,” she told Rai as they checked out, “but you know, if it doesn’t work out, than I don’t think it will be so bad.”
