Mirror Daisy Alts (Bush + Tights) + Zine Progress Update
🕑 Added 2025-07-08 18:52:31 +0000 UTCBeen forgetting to share these and getting caught up on old things. A 70s daisy really ought to have more of a bush but this is just the trickiest angle for that sort of thing so I guess I'll just have to draw her again, le sigh.
Also Kittπ° wanted to contribute a Daisy alt so we have her to thank for tights and ascot Daisy ππ§‘π
πIn other news, I'm trying to get a jump on the Daisies Zine, starting with doing a cover mockup. I kind of think it would be fun to have only transfem Daisies in the zine so I might do a new alt for that cover image and make one of those i's a bit more suggestive ππ
I didn't realize it until now but the cover Daisy very much reminds me of one of my all-time favorite Gil Elvgren pieces.
I got obsessed with Elvgren in college and it's never left my veins, even tho I don't work that painterly very much.
I briefly mocked up a lot of my past art and it will handily make something along the lines of 20 pages, like the Peaches Zine. That teal blue just won't come through in the print though, cyan inks turn itinto more of a cornflower-y blue, which isn't bad, just different. :)
Some of these layouts will have to change but tossing the full sketch spreads into InDesign to see how they layout is kind of fun because all the monthly template headers fit really nicely on the page once they're trimmed. It's an idea for future print projects maybe!
Happy TuesdayyyyyyπΌ

Cover Daisy actually strikes me as an action shot. I know the intent is "sprawled languorously on the floor" and the Elvgren ref confirms it but imo she could also be hurtling through the air, about to deliver a devastating spin kick. Which is cool too! She's sporty.

Happy Tuesday! She's so adorable and your shading is still inspired. I think she's my favorite non-OC from you (tho Holly and Libby and the park ranger girl are still the GOATs) so how many copies of the zine do I need to buy to keep you make set of her π₯Ί
