Dev Log #13 - Beta Demo 1
🕑 Added 2021-03-28 21:40:12 +0000 UTCDP, you skipped last week's dev log bro what the heck??? Ah, that's because the game is buildable now boys. I slapped together the first few quests (made some changes to one) and now I have a playable build! I just didn't have the demo quite ready last week so I thought it'd be better to just wait until one more weekend to get a better demo for everyone.

Progress
Let's take a look at what I'm actually up to now. I told y'all that the building blocks are pretty much done, but it is still a little time consuming to put everything together. For example, in my quest dialogue I need to take off Queen's clothes. No problem at all! I'll just create a dialogue step function .setNaked() by creating a StepNaked.ts file, extending m DialogueStep class, putting in all the parameters I'll need to make it work, add it to the Dialogue class so that I can create all these dialogues right at the get go. Everything I did there might take me a solid minute of typing and clicking really fast, but next thing you know I'll need to create another function to have the girls equip an outfit and so I'll rinse and repeat all of that jargon above.
It's no longer about not being able to make things work, it's more like it takes a while to type up some of this stuff and sometimes I need a little break. Either way, not a problem because we're doing mini-updates every week so the game will be back normal in due time.
Artwork
In the demo, you'll notice that the girl's unique animations have been switched to generic ones. Don't worry, the original unique animations are not going anywhere, I'll be moving them to quests instead. The plan is the finish the animations as well, and LN has told me that they are willing to keep making animations, but LN has been busy with their day job so we're currently slowed down in character creation and animation progress. Good news is that all of the other artists are supplying plenty of images for the game!
I really like the new map images that have been created for the game. I think vegetableman nailed Trasonia, it looks very pretty and elf-y.
And the clothes shop looks really nice too!
And Zen made the second variation of Suki's witch outfit. Suki looks great in black!
Outfit Ideas
Going forward, outfits are quests. Create a cool outfit for a girl, and then write a story around it. With that being said, I'm only one guy! It's hard finding outfit ideas, thankfully Zen helps me out with this, but I'm here to ask you guys to help me out too. If any of you see any cool outfits online, shoot me message. The goal is to fill the game up with outfits and side quests and right now we've only really been working on boss battle outfits because those are going to be rewards, not just random side quests.
Free versus Paid
I initially set out to make a free game, and I'm going to stick to my gut feeling of this being a free game. But! Art and music costs a lot of money. Here's what I'm going to be doing:
Free users will get access to the entire main story.
Paid users will get access to the entire main story and side quests.
This makes the most sense to me because the game from start to finish is free, but if you really like the game and want to see more sex scenes for the girls then you can buy the game and get access to everything else.
Patreon is an amazing website that helped us get this far, but I'm also trying to help you guys out. Adult games are notorious for insanely long Patreon campaigns with hardly any updates. Queen's Brothel is going to cost $19.99 on Steam and Itch and if you buy it, you'll have access to all the latest updates. No Patreon subscriptions needed if you just want to buy the game and never worry about updates again. This will leave me in a predicament where I wouldn't know what to do with my Patreon, but that's a problem for another day.
I'm hoping to launch the game as early access before the end of the year, and I'm hoping to make enough money to fulfill my desire to fill the game with a ton of side quests.
Conclusion
Please please please try out the beta demo and let me know if you run into any bugs! Black screens, game not loading, assets not loading, pictures not loading, I'm looking for anything that breaks the game!

Yes! That's the goal! If I had more brain power I would try to create job advancements like other RPGs but that's really time consuming to come up with for me right now!
Great! I wasn't sure about this, thanks for answering. I think this way it will feel like each girl is a different "class" (in the RPG sense of the word).
