Dev Log #15 - NPC Changes

Here's an untold story from last week's dev log. If you didn't read last week's dev log, I was trying to create an Android build of the game and blue screened my computer, causing me to have to re-install windows. I ended up losing access to Queen's Brothel's database server because I forgot the password. It was cached on my computer for so long that I totally just forgot it. I was able to export everything and spin up a new server. Due to me losing some important architecture stuff, it was a very good idea for me push all of my code to production. Website update, database update, the current beta build onto itch.io. Version 0.11.0 was supposed to be the big version everyone was waiting for, but now it will have to be the test version. Version 0.12.0 will now be the big update that has the entire main story complete.
I was able to build Android, Mac and Windows versions without blue screening again 🤭. It will be available shortly.

If you were around a long time ago, you'd remember that Queen's Brothel had centaurs, wolves, and other monsters in the game. I had removed them because I was scared of Patreon's guidelines. After talking to their Trust & Safety team, I think we can safely bring anthropomorphic and sentient characters back into the game. Luckily for you guys, Hydra was able to help create some great new characters this week.
Greenhaven Characters
Greenhaven was originally a location that was under attack by a werewolf. The final boss was a Werewolf in a cave that would spawn other wolves for the girls to fuck. I think having humans live in the Greenhaven forest is a pretty dumb idea now, I'd like to change all of the characters to werewolves instead. This isn't me pushing some furry agenda all of a sudden, I've always wanted wolves in Greenhaven, and now I'm finally able to provide anthro-wolves into the game. These changes will have to happen after I finish the code for the main story, only because I don't want to keep people waiting for the entire main story to be complete.

Scarlett's Guards
Avia is heavily lacking in NPCs. To spice things up, I thought it would be cool have the castle guards be horses. This will bring another species into Avia, instead of having the girls deal with more humans. Although, I would like the horse guards to be in the castle and have some human guards outside. Maybe we can make them hate each other or something like that? Either way, the girls are going to have sex with them.

Asset Optimization
I've gotten some more feedback from players about the latest beta build and I've done some performance optimization that will help load assets more quickly. One very important bug I ran into was that some people weren't able to load all of the girl's outfits without their device crashing (Thanks T-90). This was caused by the large amount of render textures I was creating just so I could display the outfit thumbnail for the player to click on in the house. I have completely scrapped that part of the code and I will be supplying thumbnail images myself because it is too memory intensive to load all of the assets at once (will be thousands of assets just for one girl).
Another Animator
I'd like to thank all the patrons who have updated their pledges when I did the big re-haul last week. All of this extra money is going towards more artwork, and I'd like to bring in another animator. I'm still heavily set on having tons of static image sex scenes in the game, but I always like to think of the future. If I happen to gain a lot of extra cash, animations would be the next big upgrade to the game. I found another person to help for the time being (potential chance that they have to leave at the end of the month) and I just wanted to show you guys this Queen double handjob.

i really like the idea of more furries in the game, i mean we saw the minotaurs but the horses and wolves are a classic in any rpg so why not :)
