“Find anyone, yet?” Chris asked.
“Nope,” Tim replied as they continued scanning the crowd. Thus far, no one in the mall had caught their attention.
“Come on, Bonnie,” said a dark-haired boy hurrying past them, who appeared to be somewhere between their ages. He was dragging a younger blonde girl along behind him by the wrist. “Mom’s waiting for us.”
“Ryan,” the girl moaned, leaning away from him. “Slow down. I’m gonna trip.”
“Them,” Chris whispered to Tim.
“Okay,” Tim said. “What do we do?”
“I’m thinking big bro needs to be a little bro instead,” Chris said, grinning.
Tim nodded and snapped a picture of the pair with the app. As he and Chris followed the pair, Tim selected them both and checked their shared caption:

Tim first considered simply swapping their ages. However, seeing how cute Bonnie looked at this age, Tim suspected that she might be quite attractive when she grew up. He decided to test this out by making her his age, which would mean transferring 8 years away from her brother, leaving him only a preschooler.

Excited to witness this role reversal, Tim was about to save the change, but he hesitated. If he just changed them normally, then they would forget their previous ages, meaning they would only be aware of their role changes for a few seconds. Tim would rather they remembered who they used to be to extend the awkwardness and embarrassment. Also, he had to make sure that Chris would be aware of the changes as well. He opened the awareness settings and took a minute to compose a custom awareness for this change:
(Custom Awareness) The user and his brother, Chris Smith, are aware of all changes. The subjects are also aware of all changes, but all other people are not aware. The subjects’ knowledge, skills, and mental maturity match their current ages.
After a quick proofread, Tim decided that this would be perfect for everyone to get the most out of the role reversal. He saved the change and watched the progress bar appear and begin to fill.
“Whoa,” Chris said, nudging Tim with an elbow and pointing at Ryan. “Look! He’s getting smaller.”
“Yeah,” Tim said. “And, she’s getting bigger.”
The brisk pace of the boy slowed as he began to stumble in his loosened shoes. That his sister had gained weight only further impeded his movement. Soon, he stopped altogether to check his shoes, most likely wondering if his laces had come undone.
“What?” Ryan asked, realizing that his shoes had become several sizes too large for his feet, while all of his clothes were hanging increasingly loosely from him. “What’s going on?” he asked, his voice cracking up to a more childish pitch.
“Ow!” his sister cried. “My sandals! My feet hurt.”
Bonnie’s heels straps were digging into her flesh as her toes stretched beyond the front of her soles. Eventually, her growing feet became too large to be contained, and the straps snapped off, setting her feet free. The rest of her clothes were similarly strained as her body grew. Fortunately, her elastic leggings were handling her growth well, even if they were showing more and more of her shins as her legs extended. Her skirt and top, which were already tight-fitting, were struggling to contain her maturing frame.
Ryan had managed to turn his attention away from his own dwindling body, just in time to see his sister grow to eye level with him. For a brief moment, they appeared to be twin 10-year-olds. Then, their heights diverged in opposite directions. It was at this point that they recognized what was happening to them, even if they struggled to understand why their ages were rapidly swapping.
The changes became more pronounced. Bonnie’s body began to expand sideways in addition to vertically as she was catapulted into puberty. Her hips spread wide, butt ballooning, tearing her skirt apart, as a pair of soft mounds swelled on her chest, stretching her childish tank-top to its limit. Ryan’s body appeared as if it were being swallowed by his clothes. His rounded, childish face poking out of his oversized heavy-metal T-shirt would have looked comical if not for the expression of utter terror on it. His little hands clung to the waistband of his jeans, as if holding them up might protect him somehow.
Tim checked the progress bar, seeing that it was nearly full. Then, he glanced at Chris and was amused to find the boy staring, mouth agape, at the spectacle of the kids’ transformation.
When Bonnie had reached Tim’s height and Ryan had descended far into early childhood, their changes halted. For a moment, they stared at their bodies and ill-fitting clothes in wonder and confusion.
“Ryan?” Bonnie said in a distinctly more mature voice. Her expression seemed to be begging Ryan for some kind of help or at least an explanation. Her hands hovered over her breasts, hesitating to touch them despite her obvious fascination with them.
Before her brother could respond, their clothes began to resize to fit them. Ryan’s loose shirt and jeans shrank, the band name printed on his shirt changing to a more kiddie-friendly music group. Bonnie’s clothes stretched to conform to her curves. The styling did not change as they grew, but a bra did appear beneath her top to support the weight of her above-average breasts.
With them clothed in age-appropriate clothes, the app began to finalize the change, emitting a whine from Tim’s phone that grew louder until it was suddenly cut off with a bright flash of light, signaling the completion of the transformation process. When their eyes had cleared, Ryan and Bonnie stared at their own bodies, trying to make sense of what had just occurred.
“Wow,” Chris said, awestruck. “Look at her.”
Tim was dumbfounded. He had hoped Bonnie would be pretty when she was his age. He had not anticipated just how stunningly beautiful she would become, though. He doubted that any girl in his grade that could compare to her gorgeous looks.
“Go talk to her,” Chris said.
“What?” Tim replied, feeling himself become suddenly nervous about interacting with such a beauty. “Should I?”
“She’s confused. You could give her some explanation. She might appreciate it. See what I mean?”
“Should I?” Tim said. “What’ll I say?”
What should he do?
