Ray’s date was on her way, and he was nervously pacing around his bedroom. There were many reasons to worry. The girl was older than him, not even a whole year, but still... She had her own car already, while he still had a learner’s permit. And, he really liked Beth. What if she thought he was too childish, too much of a nerd? What if…? He groaned in frustration and paced a little faster.
It did not help that he had been a bit stressed out in general lately. Between keeping his grades up in school and working his part-time job, he had only a finite amount of energy remaining for socializing. Tonight was originally meant to be a bit of simple hanging out. Then, Beth had an idea to expand their evening into a traditional date with them dressing up and going out. He loved the novelty of it and the chance to spend more time with her, but preparing for a date had only been adding to his stress and nervousness.
For the past hour, Ray had been doing everything he could to take his mind off of the butterflies in his stomach. He had been too worked up to focus on his phone, so he tried splashing water on his face, which only made him worry about getting his clothes wet. After going to watch some TV in the living room only to find that his brother had already staked a claim on it, he settled for pacing around his room, taking care not to exert himself so much that he worked up a sweat. Somehow, several minutes passed before he noticed the package on his bed.
“Where’d this come from?” he asked, picking it up, happy for the distraction it provided. The label had his name on it, but he knew he had never ordered anything from the company that had sent it, Curses & Crafts. “Brandon!” he shouted for his brother. “Did you put this box on my bed?” His kid brother had a habit of pulling pranks and being a brat in general. Although it seemed an innocent enough cardboard box, Ray had a suspicion that this might be more of Brandon’s mischief.
“Dunno!” Brandon shouted from the living room. “Just came for you today. I brought it in for you. You’re welcome!”
Ray sighed and tried to decide if he should open it immediately or wait. Beth would be here soon. Did he really want to get too involved with this mystery right now? He shook the box, not hearing much moving around in it.
“So, what’s in it?” Ray asked, his curiosity getting the better of him.
He found a pair of scissors and sliced the box open with one arm of them. Inside the crumpled paper packaging, he found a simple baby pacifier made of white plastic with a honey-colored nub. It looked… tasty? He felt a sudden impulse to stick it in his mouth. He fished the pacifier out of the packaging with his fingers. Holding it up for a moment to examine it closer. Suddenly, his hand surprised him by moving on its own, stuffing the nub of the pacifier into his mouth.
As if by some infantile instinct, Ray began sucking on the pacifier over and over again, soon getting into a regular rhythm. He went to pull it out of his mouth, but his fingers went limp every time they touched it. A worried moan escaped his nostrils as he found himself incapable of stopping himself from sucking on a pacifier like an overgrown baby.
Ray looked out into the hallway, hoping to find someone nearby that could help him. It was then that he realized that something strange was happening besides the uncontrollable sucking. The door to his room appeared to be growing taller and wider. In fact, the whole room was getting bigger all around him, growing in pulses timed to each suck of the pacifier. He looked down at his feet, and saw that the outfit he had picked out for his date was hanging loosely from him, and seemed to be growing looser and looser with every suck.
He moaned in panic in a more childish tone as he realized that his body was getting smaller and, judging by the sound of his voice, younger too. Again, he desperately tried to spit out the pacifier or to pull it from his lips. Again, he could not stop sucking or even grip it with his feeble little fingers.
The regression seemed to increase with each suck as he dropped down to eye-level with the door knob. His pants fell to his feet, and his shirt draped down to his knees, then to the floor. Then, his knees wobbled as all the strength left his little legs. He dropped to the floor, his butt landing on the carpet with a soft thump. He felt as if he was about to disappear into his clothes altogether, but then the changes stopped, even as he kept sucking on the pacifier. A quick examination of his body showed him that he was now the right age for the pacifier. Somehow he had been transformed into a baby, an infant, hardly even half a year old by his estimation.
He sat there, sucking away, helpless to do anything but suck. He doubted he could stand anymore, let alone walk. Hoping to get help, again, he moaned, his voice sounding distinctly worried and high pitched.
To his relief, he heard footsteps race up the stairs and down the hallway to him, becoming worryingly louder and heavier as they approached. Then, his brother, Brandon, appeared in the doorway, panting from having sprinted from the living room. The boy appeared gigantic to Ray from where he sat on the floor, just like everything else did. However, there was something distinctly worrying about seeing his kid brother towering over him, even more so when the boy grinned with a look of satisfaction on his face.
“It worked,” Brandon said.
Ray tried to complain or question, but all he got out was another squeaky moan.
Brandon looked around in confusion. “I thought it was going to change your bedroom too.”
Ray felt his mouth stop sucking. Relieved to be back in control of his body again, he tried to pull out the pacifier. However, his baby fingers were still incapable of gripping it.
There was not much time to appreciate what had happened before his discarded clothes suddenly disappeared, followed a moment later by his furniture, his belongings, and all his wall decorations, leaving him sitting naked on the carpet in a completely empty room.
Then, just as suddenly as everything had disappeared, a diaper appeared between his legs, spreading them wide apart. Around him, a crib, a changing table, baby toys, and other babyish decorations filled the room. Once all of that was in place, there was a sense of dreadful finality to the situation. Whatever magic had been at work was done for now it seemed.
“Wow,” Brandon said. “It’s like the room was always just like this. Wait…” He stepped out into the hallway and returned seconds later. “Yeah, you’re a baby in the family photos on the walls too. The ones that you are still in, at least. It really did it. It changed reality to make you a real baby.”
Ray moaned in frustration, demanding a proper explanation from his brother. Once more he tried to pull out the pacifier and failed again.
“Don’t bother,” Brandon said as he walked over to Ray planting his enormous feet in front of him, intimidating him into silence. “You won’t be able to take that pacifier out by yourself. Only someone else can remove it. That’s how the magic works. And, you won’t turn back to normal until you go to sleep with it out of your mouth. So, you’d better hope someone helps you with it.” The giant boy crouched down and lifted Ray up in his huge hands. Ray was terrified. No one had lifted him up for as long as he could remember. That his younger brother was carrying him with ease disturbed him. At least the boy was considerate enough to cradle Ray securely in his arms as he stood up again and walked down the hall to the bathroom.
“Look at yourself,” Brandon said, staring into the mirror.
Ray looked at his reflection and was shocked by how unrecognizable his face appeared now as a small baby, his shrunken facial features having been almost wholly swallowed up by a pair of round cheeks.
“Aren’t you cute?” Brandon cooed.
Ray groaned in frustration.
“So,” Brandon said, beginning his explanation. “I found this website, Curses & Crafts. They said they sell magic spells and stuff. Seemed kinda like a scam, but I wanted to try it out. Besides, they had some good deals going on for new customers: free shipping, thirty percent off on first orders. I borrowed mom’s credit card, the one she uses too much to notice all the purchases. Then, I had to figure out what to get. It’s amazing the customizations they let you do, by the way. I was able to have the magic set up to transform whoever put the pacifier in their mouth, and everyone would think it was normal how reality changed, except for whoever uses the pacifier and anyone who knows about the magic already, of course. After thinking it over, I decided that it might be fun to have a baby brother for a little while, so here we are. The package actually showed up yesterday, but I hid it away until today. Figured it would be more fun if you opened it just before your date got here.”
Before Ray could process the story and respond, the doorbell rang downstairs.
“That must be her,” Brandon said. “I wonder what she’ll think when she sees you like this.”
Ray was terrified of Beth seeing him in a diaper. He wanted to run and hide, but he could not escape his brother’s arms. He was forced to lie there as the boy carried him downstairs to the front door. He looked away as Brandon opened the door, not wanting to face his date.
“Hi,” Brandon said, sounding far too cheerful.
Ray heard Beth reply, “Hello. I’m here to babysit… I think.” She sounded confused.
Ray turned to look at her. Like his brother, she appeared to be a giant compared to him. She wore a pretty purple dress and had done up her makeup and hair. It was a far more fancy look than her regular somewhat-nerdy style and definitely far too fancy for babysitting. A glance down revealed that she was even wearing heels.
“Of course you are,” Brandon said. “And, here’s your buddy for the night.” He thrust Ray into her arms, pressing him into her breasts. Ray's face felt warm as she held his bare skin pressed against the bare skin of her arms. They had never even so much as hugged before, and now here she was, holding him as he wore nothing but a diaper.
“Uh,” she said, seemingly terrified by the responsibility he represented. “Right. Sure. I guess I’m doing this, somehow.”
“Come on in,” Brandon said, enjoying her awkwardness way too much. He stepped aside and gestured toward the living room.
Beth carried Ray to the couch and took a seat, taking care not to loosen her hold on the baby in her arms as if terrified to risk dropping something so delicate and precious.
“Mom!” Brandon called upstairs. “The babysitter’s here. I’m going to get dressed for my baseball game. You almost ready to go out for your dinner?”
“Yes,” their mother called back. “I’ll be down in a minute.”
Brandon turned back to Beth and explained, “Mom’s going out to dinner with friends. Someone’s having a birthday. I think. You’ll be keeping an eye on Ray until she gets dropped off. I’ll be out late too.”
“Okay,” Beth said, still holding Ray tightly to her breasts.
Brandon smiled and said, “See ya, bro.” Then, he ran upstairs, leaving Ray alone on the couch with his date. Beth and Ray exchanged a look.
“What the heck is going on?” Beth muttered.
Ray wished he could explain, but all his mouth could do was suck on his pacifier.

In a matter of minutes, Ray’s mother had spoken with Beth about her responsibilities as a babysitter. Then, she hurried out the door when her friends arrived to pick her up. Brandon, now dressed in a baseball uniform and holding a leather glove, hurried out shortly after her when the father of a friend arrived to pick him up.
With them gone, Beth and Ray were alone in the house. She had not budged from her spot on the couch and still clung desperately to him as if he were a life preserver and she was trying to keep her head above water.
Ray thought she seemed to be going into shock. He let out an inquisitive little moan, shaking her out of her own racing thoughts.
“Oh,” she said. as if she had forgotten he was there for a moment. “Hi, sorry. I was just freaking out a little. I’m gonna put you down, okay?”
Beth sat him down on the couch beside her, and looked down at him in wonder.
“I’m gonna be honest with you,” she said. “I’ve never done this before. I don’t even remember agreeing to babysit you. I thought I was going on a date tonight. I don’t know why I thought that, but that’s why I got dressed up like this. I had no idea that I was supposed to be babysitting you until I turned onto this street. Then, it just hit me. I freaked out a little, but there was no time left to go home and change. So… here we are.”
Ray listened intently. He wished he could explain what was really going on, but he knew that it was futile to try with the pacifier stopping up his mouth.
“Now what?” she asked. “You want to play with your toys?”
Ray slowly shook his head, utilizing all of his remaining motor control to communicate some kind of response.
“Did you just shake your head?” Beth asked. “You understood me?”
Ray replied with a slow nod.
“Wow,” she said. “Smart baby. Okay, then, how about I put someone on the TV?”
He nodded more emphatically.
“You like anime?”
He chuckled and smiled behind his pacifier. It had been their shared love of anime that had started them talking when they first met. Again, he nodded.
“Great,” she said, kicking off her heels. “There’s a new show I was hoping to watch soon. Let’s stream a few episodes. That ought to pass the time. Might help me stop freaking out a little, too.”
Ray watched as she stood up and figured out the TV setup in the living room. Strangely, this had started to feel like a date. He had been hoping they would find some time to watch anime together. This was not the way he would have preferred to do it, but it was better than being stuck in a crib or forced to play with boring baby toys.
“Okay,” Beth said, taking a seat beside him, her giant butt sinking heavily into the cushion beside Ray. “I think we’re ready to go. You might be a bit young for this show, but I won’t tell anyone if you don’t. Ready?”
Ray cooed and clapped his pudgy hands in approval.
“Let’s go,” Beth said, starting an episode.
They watched the opening, enjoying the music and the animation, both of them forgetting themselves as they became engrossed in the show.

By the fourth episode, Ray had gradually slid closer to Beth until he was leaning against her hip. Some people called her fat, which annoyed Ray. Beth had a bit more weight on her body than the average girl, but so what? There was just more of her to love. For example, right now, Ray was appreciating the extra softness of her thick thigh and ass. She had her arms resting on the top of the couch above him, and only then as the episode ended did she notice him touching her.
“You getting comfortable, big guy?” she asked him.
He moaned in satisfaction.
“Making a move on me?” she joked. “How bold of you.”
She rested her huge hand on his other side, affectionately.
“So, you want to be my boyfriend for the night?” she inquired, continuing her joke. “I was expecting this to be a date, after all.”
Ray nodded.
“Okay, then,” she said.
A new episode started, and she began dancing along to the music with her arms as she had been doing the past couple of episodes. She paused and looked down at him.
“Hey,” she said. “Come stand up and dance with your date.”
Beth lifted him up under his armpits and stood him on her thighs, facing her. Then, she puppeted him dancing with her as if he were a baby doll. He smiled and cooed as they danced together with her smiling down at him gleefully.
“Oh my,” she said. “Look at his smooth moves. What a hunk.” They chuckled together, and she sang along with the last words of the song. Then, she let out a cheerful “Yay!” when it was over, lifting his arms triumphantly into the air.
Beth sat him down on her lap, resting his back against her belly, the bottom of her breasts brushing against the top of his head, her hands gently folded over his belly. He noticed for the first time that she had freshly painted her nails in a hue of red that matched her lipstick and heels. Ray felt his face getting warm again due to how much contact their bodies were making. Her soft flesh was comfortable and warm pressed against him. Had he not been a baby, he doubted he would have been allowed this much casual contact with her, at least not so quickly. It felt lovely, and he found himself almost wanting to thank his brother for this strange opportunity.

They finished a whole season together, and Beth decided that it was time for both of them to have some refreshments. In the kitchen, she sat him on the floor at her feet as she ate a sandwich and watched a video explaining how to heat up baby formula.
“Seems easy enough,” she said, finishing her sandwich and starting to prepare to feed him.
He patiently nibbled on the nib of his pacifier, slowly coming to the realization that she would need to take out the pacifier in order to feed him from the baby bottle. If she left it out after feeding him, then all he would need to do was take a nap, and he would turn back to normal. That is if what his brother told him was correct.
Beth tested the temperature of the finished formula on her wrist. “Feels ready,” she announced. “Come on.” She lifted him up in one arm, holding the bottle in the other, and carried him back to the couch.
To his relief, she removed the pacifier at last, but his mouth was stuffed up with the nipple of the baby bottle before he had a chance to babble even a syllable. Again, instinct took over, and he started sucking. The creamy warm formula filled his mouth and drained down his throat in a satisfying flow, gradually filling his belly.
“Looks like I did a good job,” she said, watching as he greedily sucked down the whole bottle.
By the time he was finished and she was wiping his face clean with a towel, he was so comfortably satisfied that he forgot about the pacifier. Even as she patted his back to burp him he just passively allowed the gas to escape his belly along with a little bit of regurgitated formula. He had accepted that his digestive system was in control for now, and he was content to let it do its thing. Once she was confident that his tummy had properly settled down, she put the pacifier back in his mouth with no resistance from him.
Beth carried him back to the living room and lay down on the couch, letting Ray rest his belly on her own. He spread his arms wide and hugged her warm belly, his ear resting against her skin, listening to the world within her. Her lungs expanded and contracted with the regularity of crashing ocean waves, raising and lowering her belly beneath him. Her heart beat on steadily, like a ticking clock. Her stomach gurgled, breaking down the sandwich she had eaten. It was music to his ears, the sounds of her enormous body just being alive. She rested her hand on his back, and the warmth of her belly was matched by the warmth of their shared affection. It was love, he decided, pure and simple. Feeling entirely at peace, he drifted off into a nap.

“Uh oh,” Beth said and sniffed the air, waking him up. “Did you just…?”
Ray caught a whiff of what she was smelling, the unpleasant odor. He shifted his weight and felt something damp cooling against his backside. He moaned in embarrassment, realizing what he had just done while lying on her belly.
“Well,” she said, pulling out her phone, “time to look up how to change a diaper.”

A short while later, Ray lay on the changing table beneath her, naked but clean. She had taken her time removing his soiled diaper and cleaning him thoroughly. Then, when the dirty part was over, she realized that she had not prepared a fresh diaper for him. The initial awkwardness of her seeing the private parts of his body passed quickly, and he felt totally at ease under her care. Realizing how much she had done for him tonight, he felt deeply appreciative of the experience. He was aware that people would spend piles of cash on spa days that were nowhere near as extravagant as the treatment she had given him tonight.
“Just wait a minute,” she told him. “I’m going to wash my hands a few times and finish up.” She hesitated a moment and added, “You know what, I was kinda dreading this part of the job, but that was almost fun, unpleasant but sorta satisfying. Thanks for being so cooperative.”
He replied with a subtle nod, and lay there waiting, happy to be naked and free as a newborn baby.
He smiled and let his eyelids droop, feeling absolutely relaxed for the first time in a long while. What a night. Turns out that being a baby was possibly the most relaxing vacation anyone could hope for. All of your responsibilities were relieved. You did not even have to walk anywhere. A beautiful giant would carry you wherever you needed to go and take care of your every need. It was pure bliss.

Ray soon fell asleep again and only woke up briefly when he was laid in his crib. Then, just after his mother left him, Brandon snuck into his bedroom. The boy pulled the pacifier from Ray’s mouth and whispered, “Hope you had a fun date.”
Ray smiled pleasantly as he drifted off to sleep again, knowing that it had actually been a fun date, after all.

The next morning, Ray woke up in his normal bed. A quick examination showed that he had become a teenager again. He looked around, seeing that his bedroom had gone back to normal as well. As glad as he was to be old enough to walk again, part of him was already missing the comfort of being small and having loving hands care for all of his needs. He got out of bed and stood up, and it scared him slightly to realize how giant his body seemed to be now. He wanted to see Beth again, right away, to share his thoughts with her. He texted her, asking if she had enjoyed their date last night.
She replied that she had had a good time, but she admitted that her memory was a little fuzzy on exactly what had happened. She figured that she must have been quite tired, after all.
Ray wondered how much he should tell her. Looking at his dresser, he saw the package with the pacifier sitting in it, confirming that the experience had not been just some pleasant dream. Should he show it to her? Looking at it, he felt an urge to put the pacifier in his mouth again right now, but he restrained himself. There would be a time and place for that. Who knows? Beth might even want to try sucking on it herself.
“How’s it going?” Brandon asked, poking his head into the room. His mischievous smirk indicated that he was hoping to hear his brother vent his annoyance and frustration.
Ray sat on his bed and smiled. “Doing just fine,” he replied. “I almost feel like thanking you, in fact. Last night was something special.”
Brandon’s smirk faded. “Oh,” he said, irritated.
“You ought to give it a try yourself,” Ray said, gesturing toward the pacifier. “You might enjoy it more than you think.”
“Uh, no thanks,” Brandon said, backing away. “It’s all yours now.” The boy walked off with a disappointed look on his face.
Ray smiled, certain now that the pacifier would see more use in the future, one way or another. After all, having an escape from the stress of grown-up life would always be welcome.
