Hey Miniature Makers,
Last week we brought you the Bullet Dice and we had some great feedback from you on that one, so we wanted to take it a step further!
This week we're bringing you the Bullet Dice Cylinder, designed to store away your D6 ammo, and give you some of that very satisfying revolver-like action!
Store six D6 Bullet Dice away safely, using the screw-on lid to make sure you don't lose any in between sessions. The bottom of the cylinder has a spot for a 608 ball bearing, no glue is required as it's sized to be pressure fit!
We put numbers on the outside of the cylinder, and an arrow on the base so you can optionally spin instead of rolling!

I got it going! Probably something I need to tune on my printer. I tried sanding the threads of my original lid print but wasn't able to get it to fit. Printed the updated lid and my lid was still sticking. I dropped the model down "under" the build plate 6mm so I could test printing only the threads. After a couple of tests, I scaled the print's X and Y dimensions 96% and it's working! Thank you for a fun model!

The old one should still work, just be taking it slow and maybe sanding the edge a tiny bit, but the updated one makes it a bit easier to get it started for sure :D

Chris, if you don't mind me asking, did you flip the cylinder lid flat in your slicer or print it threads-down with supports?

I had the same issue, my lid threads won't fit into the cylinder. I have not tried the updated STL yet, thank you Custom Miniature Maker for posting it.

Haha, just glad you were able to get it done! If you have to print any more lids in the future, the new file is a bit more refined :D Big fan of glow in the dark, awesome!

Sanding down worked, also screwing it in and out slowly... sorry so many innuendos!! added bit of pencil as recall being told years ago graphite works well for lubrication as such!!! I'll stop now!!! Done it in glow in the dark pla too :D ill have to chuck some pics up soon

Hey Chris, our test print was made with FDM, and while I had to take it slow to get the threads started, there were no fit issues. With that said, I opened up the model to see if I can taper the end a bit to try to make it a bit easier to get started. For now, you could also maybe try sanding around the edge of the end of the last thread to see if that helps. *Edit: An updated version of the lid is available in the folder now :D Hope it helps!

Finally gotten around to printing thee case and cover but the thread doesn't fit, anyone else had issues on FDM?

Will do! Came out pretty well on FDM so time to set another 5 going :D Bright orange but will try some glow in the dark ones too perhaps!

Haha, we have more functioning models planned don't you worry. We like to test out mad ideas =D. If you like functioning models make sure to make the volcano tower from the lava set as that is very functioning.

Finally, an use for my old fidget spinner bearings ahah Honestly I would love to see more functioning models like this one in the future, even if it means using bearing or more tea lights!
