And then there was the aural shadow that fell over him… that little hush of anticipation, like a horror movie going quiet just before the monster struck. Jason smiled to himself ironically. Every time.
“You know, that really is irritating. I can see why the Penguin resented you guys so much.”
He turned, taking in Batwoman and wondering if she would strike him differently, now that he was technically in the Prey category of the clan. One of those corrupt businessmen they so liked to squeeze for information.
But no, she had about the same effect on him that she always did. Knowing all the tricks of the trade, all that formfitting leather did was make him a bit horny. He’d heard she was a lesbian. Lightning struck outside. The sound of rain joined the muted road of the music. The window Kate had come through let in the wet din. The squawks from the crowd outside as everyone dashed for cover. The thunder that rattled the room also rumbled in Jason’s eardrums. He liked it.
“A sympathetic ear with Batman.”
Jason snorted. “Those guys are giving me more sympathy than I know what to do with. I suppose jerking off in a cup would be slightly less painful than Thanksgiving dinner with the Wayne clan, but I don’t negotiate for five percent off.”

Kate huffed with animosity. “Alright then, Todd. What is it you want?”
“Glad you asked, Katey-cakes.”
Before she knew he was in motion, he was pressed up against her. Kate tried to fight down the sure of adrenaline she felt. She turned away, then felt Jason’s touch on the nape of her neck, combing through her red hair. She sensed his dark eyes boring into the back of her head, seeming to see the sensations that flickered through her brain.
“That’s not much of an ask,” Kate said. “A bit of sex and you’re a father… you could have that with a lot of girls.”
Jason tutted gently, his fingers reaching into her costume to toy with the soft wisps of hair along her neck. “If I make a baby, it should be a special occasion. Turkey basters shouldn’t be involved. And you would be a good mother. It’s just that I think making a lesbian come… that’s the sort of memory I’d like to have from conceiving a child.”
Kate’s voice quivered. “You’re sick.”
“Yes,” Jason agreed, briefly looking at the flaring blue-white light that came from outside, a hammering thunderclap on its heels. “But you came to me. I don’t know what your issues are, but you want screwed up.”
Kate shuddered. His fingers slowly stroking along her pulse was doing things to her. With so much of her encased in black leather, his naked touch was like a drug, it was so intense. “Maybe I’m just being nice.”
“Maybe I am too,” Jason said, his breath burning her ear right through the cowl. “Unless you think a turkey baster can get you off.”
“You’re not going to get me off,” Kate said certainly.
“Tell you what: if I make you come, I can come inside you. Otherwise, I’ll put it in the damn cup.”
His lips touched her throat. Kate felt like she’d been struck by one of the lightning bolts dividing up the sky outside. She flinched away, accidentally baring her throat as if in submission to him.
“Go… go get a cup,” she moaned as his lips suckled her jugular. Her fists clenched until the leather of her gloves squealed.
“And waste all this foreplay? I won’t need one.”
“What if I’m right? And you can’t make me come?”
“I’ll go to whatever fertility clinic you want. But before you bet against me, remember that the house always wins.”
Kate crossed her arms defensively over her breasts. Jason tugged the zipper of her costume down with a sultry slowness that was insolent in its seductiveness. An excitement raged in Kate. “Jesus,” Kate said. It was barely a whisper.
With her costume down around her waist, but her mask and cape still on, Jason unhooked her bra. Kate kept her arms folded over her breasts, holding the bra in place. Jason was undeterred.
