But Kara let him know. Smiling brightly, she sat down next to him and put a warm hand on his bare thigh. The touch lasted only a second, but it felt like an electric shock. Dick almost jumped out of his chair.
“Like my birthday suit?” Kara asked, looking straight into Dick’s wide eyes now that she’d gotten his attention. Or more of his attention, at least—she seemed to be a glutton for it.
“It certainly is you!” Mary joked.
Dick let out a strained laugh. Normally, that would’ve broken the tension, but he still wanted Kara as badly as ever—there was no escaping that. He didn’t know quite what to do about that. It was a losing battle to keep his tender cock from responding to Kara. She just sat there with her wan, lissome body turned toward him enough to let him clearly see her pert young breasts.
Haplessly Dick tried to think of something else.
The filmy negligee bunched between Kara’s legs and touched her cunt. It let out the soft, natural fragrance of Kara’s womanhood to find Dick’s nostrils. He couldn’t divert himself from her, couldn’t help looking down between her legs in an almost subconscious attempt to catch a glimpse of what she so barely concealed.
Dick noticed that Mary was trying equally valiantly not to stare at Kara. Paying just a little too much attention to the food. “How about we fly off to the coast for a nice midnight swim?” Mary asked, evidently trying to dispel the tension.
“I could go for that,” Dick replied.
“Absolutely,” Kara added. She looked into Dick’s eyes. “It’s too hot out here. Even at night.”
Mary rose from the table. “Will you help me put this all in the fridge, Dick?”
Dick was in no position to get up from the table. His erection was respectable enough at this point to embarrass him. “I’ll have a little more,” he said, serving himself another portion of salad.
“Suit yourself,” Mary said, and went around the table, transferring the dirty dishes to the sink. Dick hoped she didn’t notice the tent in his towel as she bustled around.
If she did notice, she didn’t make any sign of it. Dick felt a sense of relief, not that the point at which he still retained any modesty wasn’t long past. He still felt like he might be regaining some of it and the longer he went unexposed, the more he felt in control.
Then Mary dropped a spoon between his legs. No sooner had it clanged off the floor than Kara stooped to pick it up. Dick pushed his chair back like a shot, moving away to keep clear of her accidental touch. Kara still looked at him like she knew exactly what he was trying to hide—and that she was the reason behind it.
Dick decided right then that he wouldn’t blip this out like some one-night stand; he’d try to find out just what Kara was up to. He knew that she knew what effect she was having on him. She had to.
And he wanted her… wanted her like he hadn’t wanted anything since those boyhood days before he’d gotten Babs and Kory into bed. But something had to be done. Things couldn’t get out of hand, if they weren’t already.
God, what a strange fucking day, Dick thought. Then the doorbell rang.

The Iceberg Lounge was going full blast when Selina got there. The music was loud and almost deliberately atonal; she’d heard it two blocks before she got to the club. She barely even got in—had to get a little demonstrative with the bouncer before she got past the velvet rope.
When did come in, there was enough smoke in the air to give her a contact-high she’d need at least twenty-four hours to come down from. So naturally the first thing she did was take a pull from her flask.
“Hey, Kyle!” Tracy called to her from the other end of the Iceberg’s coat-check room, which was nearly as crowded as the dance floor, just without what passed for dancing. She wove her way to Selina, her ash-blonde head bobbing up and down in time with the music as she approached. “Where’ve you been?”
Selina shrugged. “Busy.”
“You ‘ere ta see the boss?” she asked, her thick Cockney accent seemingly deliberately opposed to her fashionable attire: low-cut bodice, sheer stockings, disembodied bowtie on her bare throat, and a bowler hat on her head. All showing off the gorgeous body, face, hair that had no doubt brought her to the Penguin’s attention as much as her skills. The joint in her hand was the only thing that didn’t speak of sheer, sensual class.
“Nah, just unwind,” Selina answered. “Wanna keep me company?”
“Sure I would! I could use a little relaxation myself—if you’re offering.”
Selina looked around. “I’m not interested in drama. You seeing anyone?”
“You know ‘ow it is, Kyle. Oswald likes to look, but not touch. He just doesn’t like anyone else touching either. ‘ow about you? Finally found your own billionaire like the redhead and the bottle blonde?”
“I found mine before they did; they found mine.”
“Really? Thought that was just a rumor, it was. Shame, love. I’d choose you in a heartbeat. Then again, two for the price of one… maybe ol’ Brucie just can’t resist a bargain. Those rich folks, you know…”
Selina felt an irritation she didn’t have to play-act. “Or maybe he’s fucking them up the ass. And more power to them, if they can take it. I could barely get him into my pussy, he’s hung like such a fucking horse.”
Tracy abruptly cleared her throat. “Well, at least you know for yourself. I’ll just ‘ave to take your word for it, see if I don’t.”
Selina felt a sudden burst of pride at landing two of Gotham’s most eligible bachelors. Even if, in true feline fashion, she’d taken her own sweet time to do it. She decided to use Tracy’s envy to pry at her ego like she would use a lockpick.
“Oh right,” she said, evincing surprise, “you’ve never had Bruce, have you? Shame, you’re just his type. A night on the town, a sexy little tryst—even if it only happens once, you don’t know what you’re missing. You’ve got to try him before he’s off the market or you’re really going to kick yourself. Trust me, there’s just not many men that can do what he does.”
“I’ll bet!” Tracy groaned. “Lord a’mercy, what I wouldn’t give to be all over his cock, ‘owever well-‘ung he is. But that one is off the market, innit? The threesome girls and however many birds the geezer’s got waiting in the wings for it to be made official. No one’s going out on the hunt when he’s got a harem right outside his man-cave.” She took a deep pull from her roach, a thoughtful look replacing her jealous expression. “Why d’ya think he never tried me on? Look at those other two Gooseberry puddings stealing my look. I’m practically in the bloody seraglio already. Only there ain’t no eunuchs keeping me in line—just this ruddy job market…”
“I don’t think he likes shaved pussy,” Selina suggested nastily, laughing just enough to cut it into a joke. “Maybe you should lose the number of your Brazilian for a while.”
“Ha-ha. Very funny, ginch.”
“No, really. How come you clear-cut it? Don’t you know guys appreciate a little fur? Every one of ‘em wants a pelt to show for the hunt…”
Tracy looked around to see if any of the milling masses were paying attention to them in particular, then beckoned Selina in closer. “Just between us girls?” she whispered, so low Selina couldn’t hear her even though she was leaning in. She had to read Tracy’s lips.
“Of course,” Selina said, her curiosity piqued even in the midst of her act. “You should know better than to even ask.”
Tracy exhaled tightly and dropped her voice so low that it wasn’t that Selina couldn’t make out what she was saying, it was that she couldn’t hear Tracy producing any sound at all. “I shave my pussy because it’s a turn-on. I’m a voyeur and I love getting fucked, so nothing turns me on like seeing myself get the shag. Only I can’t see with a lot of ‘air in the way. With all of it shaved off, I see everything. I’m sure you haven’t got much of a bush; don’t you love how a wang goes in and out of you, your lips just… holding onto it whether it’s on the way in or coming out all wet?”
“God!” Selina said, suddenly realizing her skin was covered in goosepimples. “Stop, you’ve giving me a hard-on.”
Tracy shrugged philosophically. “Your cunt’s the fine the way it is, though, if Bruce Wayne’s going for it.”
“How’d you like to test that theory?”
“Oh?”
“I’m meeting Bruce here. If you want, we could see which of our cunts he likes better.”

Hearing the doorbell ring, Kara just had to say a clichéd “Who could it be at this hour?” In a blur, she was dressed in a more modest jacket, blouse, and skirt. Then she was in front of the door, opening it.
Kory wore a snug cotton T-shirt, obviously nothing under it. The size of her breasts was very clear; her large, firm nipples stretched the cotton covering them. She also wore a loose tie-around skirt, black with straight blue lines skating over it that reminded Kara of how Nightwing’s blue stripe traipsed over his black-outlined body.
It was tied in the front and when Kory didn’t watch her stance, it opened up and showed her panties, tight and white and skimpy. At first, Kara thought they had some pink design printed on the crotch, but then she realized that was the shadow of Kory’s sex showing through the thin fabric.
“Hi there, Kara. I’m Kory. It’s been a minute, hasn’t it? Is Dick here?” She drew back her lips in a smile that nonetheless showed off her smooth, even teeth.
