Hated It: Microtech Amphibian RAM
🕑 Added 2024-01-11 16:53:15 +0000 UTCTD and I test the last Microtech Amphibian RAM knife and I ended up hating it. This is a very different knife from my 2003 collectible tan cam Amphibian. It's heavy, has a much thicker blade, a sharp scaled G10 exterior, and features a "Ram Lock." Just about everything in this amazingly-sold-out knife failed to impress me and it is not rec'd at all.

I just recently got the Microtech MSI with polymer tri-grip scales (harkening to the tri-grip ultratech). US-made, wharncliffe/modified sheepsfoot with the ramlock and M390. Im super happy with it as a larger EDC/utility blade. Good slicer, bad stabber. Also only $177! Let me know if you want to review it and I'll send 'er in. I'll save you some time: has sharp edges on finger choil, shitty jimping, and would likely not baton well. Still good as an EDC though.
Great review, thanks for keeping it real. I’m surprised by how terrible the RAM lock performed. That is a serious design flaw for a $300+ knife that needs fixing.
