New Book Poll -- Information Post
🕑 Added 2023-01-24 01:35:57 +0000 UTCI'm going to close the poll tomorrow at midnight, and go ahead with the chosen book. Whichever book gets chosen will update 1x week (or more as I please) in the "Other Book" and $7+ tiers, aiming for a Sunday release date. The first chapters may be shorter, but I'm aiming for 2k-4k for a weekly release size regardless of book chosen. The remaining book will update on an "as I like it" schedule in the Other Book tier, and might not update until the chosen book is finished, depending on time constraints.
For those who are not interested in the $7+ tiers, the chosen book will drop on RR sometime in March. Whether you enter the higher tiers or wait for the free drop, your choice will affect what book you see next!

Thanks for your thoughts! I do appreciate it. Even if I end up choosing TTMF over PS, you've made some good points as to what I can & should improve with the plot going forward. So thank you for the feedback!

Probably good that you posted this, or I would'nt've gotten off my ass to read and vote. The mystery and plot in PS is better. The only thing that it's missing is the classic Noct character interaction. Whereas I generally don't like the other one as much, though it's still pretty good (as to be expected from a Noct fic). It's main strength is the characters and character interaction, jumping right into that. And I'm sure we'll see the Thief after the time skip. Ultimately, I prefer PS. I'm sure we'll get the characters momentarily, but this one draws heavily on plot and creep factor, going back to the classic Noct every chapter is a cliffhanger. Aka good writing. Whereas the other fic was mostly just meh litrpg battling. Besides the vaguely amusing character interaction. Some people may like the dominating start to the fic, with the main character just being all powerful. Or even the servant character as being powerful. But I like it better when they start from an underdog position, maybe with one unbeatable trick, before growing powerful. That keeps readers in better, whereas there may be some degen readers that won't start without OPness from the start. Then again, you don't get that first chapter. And PS has the better mystery to force people to keep reading. After voting, it was tied. I wouldn't mind seeing more from both. But I 100% prefer PS. One last thought. Both of these have the system and tower as malevolent, such that no reader should want it to exist irl. I mean, that's probably true of other fantasy systems that cause way more death, but this is nice and specific from both. But I like the messaging as such from PS better. More satisfying to take that down, with an intelligent and crafty character. I feel like there's a lot of room for cool world building there. Whereas the other one is gonna be at least somewhat more generic. And I don't really want to read something with the fixed classes, even if maybe that's part of the point in what you rebel against. But it's stuck in the other one too -- but in such a way that there's a nice and satisfying path forward. If it really ends up as tied, I beg of you to consider writing PS over the other one.
