I have found some Delmont references in Chapter 223 "Teacher's tasks" but nothing about Liane so far... Her name is not explicitly mentioned --> Find it, I hope,” Arlene replied. “Your resourcefulness has already surpassed my expectations more than once, so I have faith in you. If it helps, I can tell you that the last known holder was another disciple of my master, my younger brother, Delmont.” “Delmont…? And which house does he belong to?” Arlene offered Scarlett a knowing smile. “You’re assuming he is a noble.” “From what I gathered from your sister’s journal, he is. The same would apply to you as well, would it not?” “Once, perhaps. But for me, such connections are a thing of the past. As for Delmont… I’m not so sure.

Scarlett will drag that whole gravestone to Arlene. Gaspar is gonna be sooooo pissed.

When was that revealed? All I remember seeing was that Arlene and Liane were nobles from a minor house, but I don’t recall Arlene saying which one.

pelya

Delmont situation is easy, he moved from the Empire to the Rising Isle so the imperials pretended very hard that he never existed.

I don't think it is a bombshell revelation and I am surprised that Scarlett is confused since it was already revealed earlier in the story that Arlene was a Hartford and Liane was the head of household. I think both the author and readers have forgotten this.

Storyhunter

I doubt Scarlett has an obligation to obliterate the tribe of sin. The clan of flame continues on.... It seems to me that the reason she got sucked in was the ring. + At this point there is a non 0 chance that Scarlett can talk her teacher down from her crazy stunt. Or at least change how it ends a little. Going to be a little wild when she gets out.

Arlene was hinted at being a Hartford quite some time ago after Scarlett returned the journal to her. It was at a time a very obscure reference to one of the earlier chapters where Scarlett mentions to Rosa that Liane was a head of the house several generations ago. The more prominent question is what exactly happened to her that we find her sitting in the Tribe of Sin village when the history book about red witch claims she was a sort of terrorist for them. There is sort of parallel going on with Albert where it seems like nobles that committed grave crimes were wiped out of history, but why Delmont is also missing from the registry....

MrWheelsOfMime

Oh, man. I had my suspicions since last chapter. And it does put all interactions with Arlene in a very interesting light.

Now that was a bombshell revelation. It seems that pyromancy talent is a hereditary trait in the Hartford family. Gaspar should prepare himself for a rather unpleasant discussion. I wonder if Scarlett has now an obligation to exterminate the Tribe of Sin.
