MinE

Charisma and Willpower might make them less stupid, but I’m guessing at least one of these priest is going to spread the word that Alice destroyed or upsurges the system.

Abborre

People are based in emotion so IQ has little effect on being stupid.

MinE

Maybe she should mention her increased assistance from the System from her outworlder achievement.

MinE

Lets hope that willpower alleviates the issues with higher stats driving someone effectively insane.

MindWright

You are overestimating the benefits of intelligence. If anything, intelligent people are more susceptible to conspiracy theories. The ability of the brain to find more intricate and complex patterns can lead to a more satisfying dopamine reward cycle, as many small revelations add up to an addicting sense of accomplishment, and every bit of mental effort used to explain away inconsistencies becomes just another hit for the brain's reward centers. I recommend Foucault's Pendulum by Eco Umberto for a thorough inoculation.

RuRo

I think, that you are missing the fact that in their world the System religion actually worships a real entity and performs real functions in the world. In our world, religions and cults basically filter out all the sane people from the clergy. In their world the proposition that "The System is a sentient being" is a pretty uncontroversial one. Their world doesn't have any examples of non-sapient objects that have the same level of complexity in their behaviour, so even rational secular people don't have any serious reasons to doubt that claim. Additionally, out of the already much more reasonable clergy of that world, Ethan and Alice selected the most pragmatic and reasonable people.

Whisper

When the priests get too rowdy, display mana pops up with "Why are you booing me? I'm right."

Lidja

I think Alice should have mentioned her historical records search. The system hadn’t always helped with the creation of class seeds. Somebody in the past became famous for creating the filtering technique which the System co-opted.

Almost all of the chapters are from the same PoV, and the focus is closer to a standard litrpg where a group of friends explores the worlds they find themselves in, as well as trying to figure out what is going on in each world in question. There is very little politics in it, and when it does occur it within the context of the story, it is more along the lines of getting permission to go explore the dangerous forest outside of the village then anything else.

Regarding your other novel - I admit I have not tried it. Based on description it sounds like you have multiple lead characters, which usually requires lot of PoV switching, which is something I don’t like because it often leads to artificial cliffhangers, where one PoV is paused to progress other PoVs. Another assumption I made is there will be lot of politics involved, which is also something I do not seek in novels. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong in my assumptions.

I think it would have been fine even if priests were more fanatical. History of the real world shows what people are capable of in the name of religion. If you were to bring a solid proof to group of priests that their god does not exist and their religion is nonsense then I am 100% you would be met with absolute denial and more than likely hostile reaction. To these people religion is inseparable part of their life, trying to convince them otherwise would be perceived as an attack against them.
