Whenever I drop out of patreon, titles make it easy to remember where I left off when I pick back up on RR or patreon months later.

I like titles. Others have covered the basics. Using them as occasional humorous points is also a way to track story milestones.

Chapter titles are just another small layer of content and can either add to or subtract from the story's quality depending on the writer's skills. You probably don't need to worry much about them either way, but good titles can make the story a bit more expressive. They also work well for indexing purposes and can make a novel easier to remember in general by providing additional structure, but that's more important when the story is already completed, I think.

So is it Ella or Ellen?

Technically that still applies, but I think the Witcher shaper are only volunteering to fill both positions or the shaper teacher position.

I thought the shaper witches Got to have one of each teachers so 2 teachers total

Some authors manage to put an additional something into chapter titles. For example, the chapter titles in Tori Transmigrated sometimes contain another punchline. But that’s rare and I certainly don’t expect it. As Nathan Sto wrote, they can also help to search for scenes when you roughly know where to look for something. It doesn’t happen often that I do go looking for scenes though, so I’d only rate it as a minor concern. I have also heard that readers who struggle with POV changes do appreciate when chapters stick to one POV and have the name of the POV in the title but I usually don’t have that problem myself. Finally, I’d like to second Treviisolion: If the choice is between chapters without titles and no chapters then I’ll always prefer the untitled chapters.

Treviisolion

Ditto on this, though if they ever get too annoying to create I’d rather get no chapter titles than no chapters.

I'm vaguely predisposed to chapter titles. They help when you're searching through a book for something - "Was this during the goblin arc, or the crafting one?". Numbers don't give you any sort of context clues - at best, they let people who are scanning through the recently updated page know that your story has a decent amount of content. Otherwise, they may as well be called "Another Markets and multiverse chapter". I think they're good. On the other hand, I'm a patron who only subscribes to stories for a month or so at a time, so I'm not sure if my opinion counts.

I like the chapter titles (and just upgraded due to getting into MaM)

Ok so observation and potental theory here but it seems like (at least to common knowledge) that spell cast has to do with constructing mental (or physical???) magical machines and the componits the magical symbols are important beacuse it seems like they tell the mana what to do, while on the other hand (wether correct or not) shapeing in this world seems to reach into other timelines that are close enough to grasp and pull them into this one, so the way that the two combind, the first way i see this working is simple, you can pull spells circles from other timelines into this one makeing the power of you spells stronger, then second is to pull the successful spell from other timelines (obviously the more accurately the spell is cast the easier), and the final potental option is straight up pulling completed spells from other timelines where those spells exsist and useing that to cast spells or event introduce them into this world.

Thanks for the chapter! Personally I like the chapter titles
