Actually, I think she can. If she’s healing herself from drowning constantly anyway, then sighing wouldn’t be an issue. The sound might be off given there is water instead of air in her lungs, but it would work.

Pride mystic artificer

Remember that the outsiders are also followers of the ocean mother, it most likely means she really is a goddess (or something analogous) or “she” is an effect of the call of the ocean (or something simmilar. Especially concidering that even in the much bigger and technologically superior outsiders the inland is much more dangerous than the oceans, so worshiping it makes sense event without a magical reason

How likely is it that the eye belongs to the ocean mother? Pretty likely the only thing a predator like the sea kraken is afraid of is a bigger predator. Maybe the ocean mother talked to the original settlers and let’s them live in exchange for worship or something.

MinE

it's possible that the friendship bracelets have something to deal with that issue. Knowing capitalism, its probably is included in the upgraded version.

Thanks for the chapter.

nitpick: if you’re drowning you can’t sigh. Maybe it can be rewritten to “inwardly sighed”? Looking forward to the next chapter!

I wonder what's Salia's assumptions on how the time advances are here, because as far as we can tell we should just assume it advances normally, so Miria dying decades before Felix and Salia should mean Miria has to either find a non-perishable body in the market and be all alone for decades while also constantly looking for them, or go in a new life alone and hope that in the future they'll luck out and get in sync again.

So the island is made of some magically buoyant material, which some of the trees probably leech off of to gain their floating abilities. That raises the concern of whether the islands might one day sink (though that probably won’t be a problem for centuries). Also a cube, interesting, those don’t typically form in nature unlike hexagons, so that implies intelligent design. The current inhabitants are bronze age, so either this world is post-apocalyptic, or inhabited by intelligent eldritch monstrosities. Maybe both.

Thanks for the chapter! :-)

She's probably not going to die from this b/c it would be slightly anticlimactic.Hopefully she'll get something out of this trip. I'm hope stat boost. to Fortitude from healing herself from near death repeatedly.
