For tier 1, it's 50 per point. Miria and co. Don't know future costs, they just know it scales. As for Glut Penalty... I have a specific plan for that. We'll get to it by the time it's relevant.

Bryan D

For the future, could glut penalty be x/max? It would be 0/20 now. Also, I can’t remember what chapter detailed the achievement cost of adding stats. I remember it wasn’t linear.

Emi the witch

"Now, when assessing an ability, there are a few things to keep in mind when." When... what?

Rui Lourenço

I had this question as well after reading. Hopefully it will all get answered when it becomes relevant.

Jackson Ragland

I really like how this ability gives her the chance to improve the absorption stat which so far has proven immeasurably important

Thanks for the chapter! Maybe I just missed it while reading, but what happens when 2 abilities have the same keyword? Do they only use one slot, or do you have twice the bonus when interacting with like "Water"?

MinE

I’m not a hundred percent sure about that. she could get a keyword ability based around her sword skills and utilization of physical runes.

MinE

Weird thing Sallia is both ridiculously under power weed and underpowered in this world. Her previous life’s experience makes it easy for her to relearn how to use a sword, and her high perception helps her keep up with her boosted body. On the other hand her low absorption essence cripples her natural talent for absorption essence which only current use would be better utilizing the temporary extra boost from her only three runes. Unfortunately, her willpower makes her exceptionally vulnerable to mental attacks in a world where most of the wildlife is at least partially Eldrich.

Arkeus

It will really help the team to know this. Felix could benefit a lot from knowing how to create an ability, and how to make an ability that lets you use nonviable essence in different worlds. Sallia would benefit a fuckton if she could get her fourth rune, but that would necessitate a special resource.

Nathan Sto

Since this is almost a copy of her own ability, do you think it's possible to do that now, but she's just too new to absorption essence to see that?

Nathan Sto

Cool skill stuff: Disclaimer - I, personally, don't think this is the most powerful ability for the MC, and do not think she should slot it. It's quite goal specific to this world, prevents her from using other abilities due to her low glut, and it seems to make a weird trade of low power for wide focus, while still having strict conditions to use. Furthermore, she's not particularly skilled with this essence type. I think she should wait for another world till she finds what she's good at. However, it does have one major advantage - it meets all 3 requirements to use absorption in other worlds. It also has one major exploit. The description mentions changing the body to accommodate absorption essence. Since we know that the body is what determines her stats, it suggests that she should be able to manually increase her absorption ability throughout a life. How useful this'll be without a fish-core equivalent depends on the author's intentions, but it *could* be OP. Unless she ends up in either a desert or an underground civilisation, in which case she'll have a hard time of it. I personally think that she should discard this ability, and prioritise putting her achievements into items (no glut), stats (exceed max), and finding her talent (because Sallia is OP right now), in that order.

Miria's Original Agility in this world was 125, along with a +2 from Market Stats. With a +60 from her Runes, she should have been at 187 total Agility - the 167 in this chapter was a typo. I forgot to add her third rune to the Agility total. Thanks for pointing it out - I missed that.

Nathan Sto

There's a time and place for exposition, and this was certainly one of them. I liked how you did this. By this point you've built up enough mystery about the market and the different abilities that not knowing more is at the edge of being frustrating. It's a good spot. You're also calling back to their cultivator nature before what seems to be some rather heavy in-world plot, so again, good spot. Finally, I personally have been wondering how much their achievements from one life carry over to others. If the only way they could do so were buying stats, then they would need to be earning quite a few more than they are. Introducing a new mechanic, particularly one that manages a resource that you've built up to and looks to have long term consequences, makes the system make more sense. I like it, good job.

Stephen Pearson

Thanks for the chapter! Loving your story:-) Sad that she can't take her new ability for a test run in the life she's currently in, as it looks like she would be able to continuously improve her absorption capabilities and eventually go hulk mode...

Treviisolion

Wouldn’t Agility be at Grade 8 not 9 with a score of 167?
