She should really try for advanced achievement in a weapon in this life . The difference between [Basic] and [Intermediate] is quite high making the ability actually worth taking despite the penalty. They need to ask one of the retired Hunters to train them further. She can afford to pay in fish cores.

Clean Gopher

Wow! 35 growth in physical stats for only 1k achievement and for only intermediate swordsmanship. That’s a bargain, even if it does mana training it up for a few years in each new body. Great for reincarnating, but not so useful each time they hit the ground in the Market between lives. Still, heaps better than spending 4,500 on those Satan’s and it comes with the rapid relearning of swords. That’ll fix any low rolls for only 70 in any physical stat. Probably some sort of scholar or rogue type mind trio skills exist in basic and intermediate, etc. as well. Much more efficient than raw stat purchases. Don’t know about glut yet, it seems like it might be a low tax to use up some achievement when entering a new body…so it’d hit them twice each time to get into the temp market body and their reincarnated bodies. Not terribly expensive, but a decent sized hit if one accumulates too much glut from loads of skills or glut heavy items. That’s my guess for the mechanic at least.

The Lost Pages

I suspect that if you were to take a barrel of pearls to the mainland and exchange it for monetary wealth that would also suffice for achievements. The problem with the pearls is that they have little to no value in the current culture.

Treviisolion

I’m guessing that wealth only works with valuable materials, otherwise it’s not really wealth, or only currency. Fish cores as a useful consumable that’s technically dangerous to obtain certainly counts as a valuable material and is often used to pay other people so also acts as a currency so it’s hard to tell if the System rewards only currency wealth or if it would also reward a person who collected a set of rare baseball cards or if it would reward valuable materials but only if they were naturally valuable and not artificially valuable. Many questions. It does seem clear that the System is capable of recognizing effort and non-effort, and I’m guessing if the fish cores could be found on the beach like pearls earning 50 fish cores wouldn’t have been sufficient to gain achievement. I am curious if it rewards luck and if Felix stumbled upon a (legitimately) hidden treasure chest full of 50 fish cores if that would give him the achievement.

MinE

Apparently stat training only works with special resources like the call of the ocean. Hopefully this weird fish works for intelligence or perception.

The Lost Pages

Thanks for the great chapter. Fingers crossed that she gets to at least the 6th rune before stopping. I really want to see the completed ocean.
