I usually read most comments, I just do so right after I post a chapter, and only read comments once a week. I have a really easy time obsessing over the numbers, comments, errors, and thoughts I have about the story, and when I started posting this story I definitely spend an unhealthy amount of time scrolling back over chapters, trying to find errors, and trying to make things better. I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing in and of itself, but for me, I was burning out quickly, and I needed time away from the story and time to just relax, plan for the future of the story, or otherwise just write the next chapter without feeling pangs of anxiety at the thought I misspelled a word in the previous chapter or something. So I set a rule for myself that I'm only allowed to look at comments and so on once a week. My motivation to write became much higher after I implemented this rule, and my mental health took a decided turn for the better as well. Turns out obsessing over things every hour of the day every week isn't the way to go, at least for me XD.

Not a Must-have, per se, but it certainly helps quite a bit. I estimated that most Scientists that reach Immortality through their Science class probably get a huge chunk of their levelling bonus from the Perk, probably 10-20%. That being said, the requirements for getting the [Scientist] Class are pretty harsh, because they require you to have a belief you genuinely believe is true, and then disprove it through your own hard work. This is MUCH harder than perhaps you might think. It's actually for this reason I tend to give Scientist Perks a slight bonus in how good they are compared to other classes of the same level, although the difference isn't very big. Since the Perk requires you to not know the outcome of the experiment before starting it, I guesstimate most Scientists in this world can probably pump out a legitimately 'new' experiment once every few years, which gives them a 40-60% boost in levelling speed during their late teens/early twenties (since I doubt most children have the class before that point, or at least not at a high level). From there, that gives them a slight bonus, which might bump them a bit higher in level, slowing down age, which might get them to 140% or 160% by the time they reach Immortality, assuming they have a lot of ideas for new experiments and the time and resources to carry them out? A lot of time is needed to get the means TO carry out new experiments, after all, at least if people don't spend their perks to remove the problem the way Alice is doing. That was my logic in levelling speed boost calculations for the average immortal, at least. Well, assuming the Perk doesn't get sacrificed after level 50, but hey, doing the math for all of this gets complicated enough without trying to factor that in.

Or it has some bugs, luckily someone brought spiders. P.s Hopefully the system has backup servers.

Pheonixarcher

Perhaps the system is experiencing collapse as the framework of reality it uses to function is being violated by tears in reality

good point, but it's a perk that is probably a must have for any [scientist immortal] seeds.

I think Alice's luck and obsessive hard work make it easy to think of 45 as a lower level than it is. It seems like a lot of people will never break 60 in a class until old age if that. So while it's a really good perk, that is probably because it's a pretty high level one. Also 'niche classes' with narrow focus in the eyes of society probably get especially good benefits for what they do.

I see you noticed our posts. Sorry for the computer troubles. Thanks for the chapter.

I still think the requirements for getting the perk should be higher. Besides that great work. Sorry to hear about your computer.
