agreed

Yeah, that was a straight up typo. I was thinking it INCREASED by 3 times ( 50% + three times the original number for 200% total) and somehow wrote down that it was tripled from that train of thought. RIP math.

Teach five students at once and help them learn a Skill or Class they did not previously have (or help them gain several levels). Alice just barely misses the second requirement, because she has helped Cecilia learn Achievements more than Skills/Levels. She also falls short of the number requirement. I didn't want to give her too many secondary classes because I feel like they bog down the story a bit and don't matter enough (counting for only half of their level really cripples their potential as a major element in the story, which was kind of by design, since I wanted them there from a worldbuilding perspective but not from a story perspective.)

acaswell

That was definitely what I was thinking of. Typos seem to crop up in places where I least expect them sometimes XD

acaswell

I'm glad to know people don't mind getting responses a week late XD. I tend to obsess over numbers and the story if I don't stop myself, so for the sake of my mental health I only let myself look at chapters, revisions, and comments once a week to preserve my mental sanity. A weird compromise, but it has drastically improved my mental health.

I wonder what the requirements for that class are

FernGilly

I'm actually surprised she didn't gain levels in a teaching class, but I can't remember if she grabbed it yet.

Enrico Snipes

I assume she is gaining levels in survivor because a manaless environment is considered the same as untamed wilderness. Where you are outside the protection of the system. Of course in an artificial environment it isn't a big deal but if someone went and explored a world like Alice's they would probably feel as dangerous as exploring the wilderness

I'm just now thinking about the sheer level of possibilities that [Shared Memory] just opened up. She can show ANYONE that she can touch and entire chunk of the world that seemingly no one has ever seen before. Also there is now the chance she can share memories of her home with people of this world and have them power-level from the experience. If you think just talking about the internet would level someone, how about showing Mathematicians 11 kinds of equations they've never seen before. Or... idk, show an organic mage a couple nature documentaries? Show a geomancer a class on geology. The list is endless. In fact, this might be how Alice starts introducing concepts from her world to people.

Enrico Snipes

My first thought about sharing memories perk was that she could show those in the know her own world. Show them what it's like to live without mana or system, and the effects of technology

I enjoy your writing, and to me, the in depth thoughts and discussions with Cecilia are a lovely bit of world building, which I love just as much as more story. If I could suggest, not that I've seen you do this too much in this first arc, is to keep the in depth analysis and action slightly separate. I know our Alice will have a penchant for analysis at slightly inappropriate times but, especially now with photographic memory, she, and we along with her, can focus on what's in front of her sad analyze it later so it doesn't break the flow of the writing. Also: You mention Germany and how the Axis took their research notes in WW2, that should be the Allies. Germany led the Axis, the Allies opposed them. (They also took the scientists. Looking at you, Wernher von Braun.)

it was an enjoyable chapter. thanks.

The first line was a quote from Alice, not my opinion - Also the filter part was already there from the second level of the perk, it didn't come from the third level.

White Neko Knight

But now the system won't apply any filters on what's happening. It's one of those quietly important things that'll probably be highly relevant later.

Thank you for the chapter! There were a few grammatical errors I noticed, such as triple when it should be quadruple, and the reading perk description just said "If a book had been read in 30. " I assume that is supposed to be 30 days. Personally, I enjoy reading your thoughts as you develop your writing style, and it makes me happy to get a response to my comments even if they are a week late, so please don't worry about doing those things! Also, you mentioned awhile ago how you were struggling with figuring out how to do time skips, and I think a good way to deal with that is to mark the end of a major arc with background stories/flash backs for Information that you're having trouble putting in elsewhere. I think doing so would not only make the time skip transition smoother, but also help flesh out the world more. Maybe a side chapter about "The Society of Starry Eyes", or back ground on Cecilia and her relationship with her father, or the story of how the town came to be from the perspective of the Lord. There's a lot of different things to cover when making a story of this Calibre, but you're doing great! I've really enjoyed the story so far!

Joseph

I enjoy the research and discovery, but the world doesn't feel too fleshed out at the moment (Probably because Alice’s knowledge and interactions tend to be limited), maybe a few more other perspectives could be added to help fill in some of environment?

Joseph

{Seeker} of Truth’s upgrade wasn’t too interesting, all things considered. It tripled the bonus she had towards Experience for research related classes -- Shouldn't this be {Seeker of Truth} and quadrupled?
