Ik 1 guy who was detained by immigration for 8 hours while they checked his background & another guy that’s Canadian who was questioned by the feds while he was in NYC.

The synthesis of the surveillance state with AI will rip apart the social fabric. For example, Microsoft just updated their terms of service to say that any Word Doc uploaded to the cloud (i.e. with an auto-save feature turned on) is subject to be scraped for their LLM. So that means if you ever wrote down a private thought, journaled, sketched a poem, etc., your words will be added to their dataset. Presumably the same goes for your search terms, your therapy session, and whatever else your phone is monitoring. In the very near future, you will be able to ask ChatGPT (or some equally dumbass chatbot) "what does [name] really think of their mother?" and it will give you an (undoubtedly partially correct) answer.
