FenFren and a Hamster

I don't remember my original inspiration as to why I wanted to make her mute, but I suppose it'll definitely cut down on all that screm fennecs are so infamous for :b and yes, these are all the same character, Tisiphone (or Tiffy, if you're brave).
The first set with the signing was done in protest towards the (rather ridiculous) changes and clarifications to the FA AUP, where characters of a specific proportion set would be banned from being acceptable on FA - of course, the staff flailed about and said everything will be within reason, but what does and does not constitute reason within this fandom has been subject to change and debate over the years, and any such claims should be taken with a bucket of salt X3~
Literally the signing reads "I" - "not" - "child" in ASL, which I use for a basis because most of my audience is likely to be familiar with that specific sign language, if any at all. I will definitely have to work out a more fluent way for her to communicate in any instances where she might need to - that is, for audience legibility, not in-universe.
Second set of sketches was done the other night. I've been wanting to do more less-developed, sketchy character stuff again, both because I feel my output has suffered over the last months, and just because I do actually feel inspired to do them and I want to take advantage of that for as long as the muse remains with me.
If you hadn't guessed yet, Tiffy has a lot of things that go boom, both very often and very loudly and she very much enjoys both the maintenance, as well as the application of, said things. In a way, I suppose she's GG's spiritual successor. Not saying GG's entirely out of my catalogue, but she has taken a bit of a back seat in many ways.
Third doodle was a wind-down while a video I had started to watch finished playing, some ~10 or so minutes. Tiffy in her bed, showing off her personal assets, which she's rather self-conscious about, and is one of the reasons she tends to wear somewhat bulkier clothes.
Lastly today, just a Hamster with a shotgun ... :b

Righto, that concludes the upload cycle for today.
I'm going to play catch up this week, try to get everything done that desperately needs completion, then sit down on commissions for this month.
Something I actually wanted to do last week before I got ill was sit down and plan out some details for the future of the patreon, with additional benefits to the +5€ Tier's. I'm hoping to get that sorted out this week and then have an update/proposals to you next monday.
At the very least I'm hoping to manage to stick to some kind of regular upload schedule going forward and I'm working towards making that a reality X3
Anyway. Still coughing a bit, but feeling loads better than last week, so here's hoping I'll be rid of this and back to normal by the weekend.

I didn't end up doing that experimentation at the time, but I'll work it out eventually. Doesn't take a whole lot to track down their names and the ideas behind them. I'm still a little on the fence about whether I want to give them any kind of otherworldly qualities as a result, but they might not need to be overly obvious, even if I do X3 Yes, they're not directly wiggles, but I suppose they also are, jus not caused by muscle movement related to the ears~

Hmmm... I was thinking about that a little and my thought process was along the lines of "Yeah, gonna be tricky if you can't see her hands. I guess you could make speech bubbles with the gestures in it. That could totally work. Nice, problem solved... except that would not help anyone who doesn't understand sign language... which is the majority people... damn..." Yeah... tricky problem. Good luck with that. Not surprised about the names. Not after seeing Nyx's name :) Oh, also, only after posting I realized that technically those aren't ear wiggles but her shaking her head. I stand by my squeeing though :)

I suppose I tried to do some sort of slice-of-life stuff, but it's kinda difficult to find things definitely tied to the character(s) without feeling like just generic things happening X3 Shotgun Hamster!!!

Hey, ear wiggles is cute. It's okay <3 Xb~ Honestly, I'm sure there's a couple' mute characters in the fando. We just don't know about them. From a puristic point of view, any character that doesn't speak a human language to communicate could be considered mute, but that gets into some philosophical territory I don't think we need to roll all the way out into X3 I'm thinking of having her use regular speech bubbles, but to somehow tie them to her hands/maybe stylze the speed bubbles with some signing hand in the edges. Might actually do a round of experimentation tonight. The name is a hint. They all are ;3 One of the things I learned from my tutor is style adaptation. Mind you, it's by no means perfect and for more complex styles you will need the right brushes to immitate someone elses' look, but I can mask myself if I want to.

Hooray for sketchy character stuff! The fennec with lots of things that go boom is really cool. Gotta love the laid back pose and her expression on the third piece. I like these since they give a little insight into something undeveloped, making one want to think about it more. The hamster with the shotgun is very funny too :)

THE EAR WIGGLES!!! <3 <3 <3 Ahem... sorry. Dunno what came over me there ;) Neat doodles. I'm not sure if a mute character is more or less of a challenge in a visual medium... but I'm curious to see how you will tackle it. Regardless, looks like a neat character. Even if her arsenal is a bit more extensive than I'd be comfortable with :) Oh, interesting name too. I wonder if that is a hint. Oh, and regarding the hamster, my eyes kinda slid over it on FA after a brief look at the thumbnail and an "Hehe, cute.". Totally didn't realize that it was your work. Which is impressive.
