Next CGMZ Plugin - Large
🕑 Added 2022-08-03 16:55:16 +0000 UTCHi all, this poll is for the next large plugin I work on for the CGMZ Engine. As these will require quite a lot of work, there is no estimate for how long I expect it to take.
HUD - This plugin would create a HUD on the map scene for the player. This could include things like displaying an actor image, hp, mp, tp, windows, shapes, etc. This would also integrate well with many other CGMZ plugins such as HUD elements for quest tracking, day/night system display, etc. This would only be for the Map scene for now, with possibility of adding battle HUDs later on.
Vehicle Equipment - This plugin would add a new menu for equipping vehicles with equipment. Equipment would have some pre-defined behavior impacts on the vehicle. An example of this may be oars or sails which make the boat/ship go faster. It would also integrate with CGMZ Fishing for things like "nets" that may enable the ability to catch certain fish only if that equipment is on the vehicle.
Input Config - This plugin would allow you to have a more modern input configuration window where the player could choose which keys are assigned to which actions. I would also like this to support gamepad inputs, but alpha would likely only include keyboard support.
Preloader - This plugin would "preload" certain assets such as music or images so they can be instantly displayed/played without any delay. I would also like to try and implement a "smart loading" system which would look to scan the map and load things the plugin thinks will be required soon "just in time (JIT)" and then unload things as they are no longer needed. This would help cut down on system resources since less things would be preloaded at any given time, but this may not be part of the initial alpha release.
At 11:59PM CDT August 31, this poll will close and I will start working on the plugin with the most votes. In case of a tie, I will choose one of the plugins that received the most votes.
