Next CGMZ Plugin - Large
🕑 Added 2022-04-09 17:24:17 +0000 UTCHi all, this poll is for the next large plugin I work on for the CGMZ Engine. As these will require quite a lot of work, there is no estimate for how long I expect it to take.
Vehicle Equipment - This plugin would add a new menu for equipping vehicles with equipment. Equipment would have some pre-defined behavior impacts on the vehicle. An example of this may be oars or sails which make the boat/ship go faster. It would also integrate with CGMZ Fishing for things like "nets" that may enable the ability to catch certain fish only if that equipment is on the vehicle.
Input Config - This plugin would allow you to have a more modern input configuration window where the player could choose which keys are assigned to which actions. I would also like this to support gamepad inputs.
Preloader - This plugin would "preload" certain assets such as music or images so they can be instantly displayed/played without any delay. I would also like to try and implement a "smart loading" system which would look to scan the map and load things the plugin thinks will be required soon "just in time (JIT)" and then unload things as they are no longer needed. This would help cut down on system resources since less things would be preloaded at any given time.
Day & Night - This would add an invisible time system to the game which would also include day/night cycles for maps you enable the day/night system on. It would allow for automatic night tint to be applied on outdoor maps at a certain range of game time, for example.
At 11:59PM CDT April 30th, this poll will close and I will start working on the plugin with the most votes. In case of a tie, I will choose one of the plugins that received the most votes.
