Status Update
🕑 Added 2023-09-30 10:35:34 +0000 UTCWell, I haven't done much this month since I've spent most of my free time playing Starfield, which released earlier this month. That will probably not be a huge surprise to those of you who are familiar with my work. If you've played it, and you're familiar with my work, you might have noticed some similarities to a certain RPG I've worked on for over a decade. Of course, Starfield is a Bethesda RPG, and I work in RPG Maker so the similarities aren't that numerous, but still...
Anyway, it's got me thinking about that idea I had way back for a game tentatively called Grrl Power 3d, a game I couldn't even realistically think about trying to work on without a team. But now there's this notion that perhaps something like that could exist as a mod. After all, Bethesda RPGs are famous for modability. But the concept has changed a lot over the years so I'm not sure it'd really be GP3D, but rather something else with the same general idea.
You can probably tell this is going to need a lot more thought, but it is fascinating. I'll need some kind of team, and I'll probably develop it as an entirely SFW non-adult work, which will help my fictional universe reach a larger audience. After all, Starfield already has a NSFW modding scene, but I probably shouldn't talk about that here anymore since I went non-adult with this page. Maybe I'll get into that more on my SubscribeStar page.
At the moment, my very tenuous plan for a theoretical GP successor Starfield mod would be to start by implementing small mechanics as individual mods within a collection. Mostly just mechanics like my radio scanner and space recycling, among others. But those systems would form a foundation for later building larger content in line with the Iridiumverse, which was always a part of my larger Starscape universe (it focused on a specific time period from that universe). Ultimately, the mod would be a total conversion which would be based in the Starscape universe, essentially starting on April 1st 2037, just like GP2, and feature at least some of my characters, like Iridium, Quinn Patrick, Tabitha Halliwell, and Audrey Thompson. It'd be great if I could get all of my characters in there, I enjoy writing character focused stories. And that'd be my main role on the team, aside from project lead. I would be the head writer.
Of course, none of this is likely to happen until Bethesda releases their creation kit for Starfield, and it also assumes I'll even be able to find the right people. So until then, it's just a neat idea and something to think about. The real challenge will be pulling myself away from the game to actually make content for you guys in the meantime.
